Last year I heard how so many companies didn't want to be at IMATS NYC because the venue was bigger ( and more money)
I know that on that day I had a HUGE corporate meeting at 8AM on a Saturday in April 2011. I was not gonna miss IMATS NYC2012 for nothing.
I spent over $500. to perfect my skills as an MUA. If I over hear the BS again this year....trust me I will have a fit there and via email and blog.
The money I earn as a manager at a popular mobility company goes to paying for makeup that is 99.6666633333% TFP
Again....please let me know that you had fun (#1) and that you experienced a significant amount of savings.
I'm getting to LA a day early to do an editorial makeup workshop at Ruby's Makeup Academy on Thursday Jan 17th (hosted by Lynn Golovich - contact her at lynn@aboutfaces.tv if you want to come.)
Then it's Pro Day at IMATS on Friday Jan 18th.
I'll be at the Royal & Langnickel booth #300 with the [R]evolution Brush Collection I designed for them.
I'll also be doing seminars at the Open Forum Stage right on the trade show floor both Sat and Sun.
I can't wait to see all of you!

Saturday evening we will be celebrating the 100th issue of Make-Up Artist magazine. There will be live entertainment, complimentary drinks for gold and platinum Pro Card holders and we will be giving away an entire set of the magazine, an iPad min and other great prizes.
There are only a couple of hundred tickets left for Saturday. I'm sure they will be gone by the end of the week.
There's some info. The rest can be found at IMATS.net
I will be there on the 16th so that I can host the workshop with Kevin James Bennett on the 17th. Email me at lynn@aboutfaces.tv if your interested in attending.
Then the 18 I will be at the pro events and most likely hanging with Matt and Paul from Frends and Kevin any others from our Pro Makeup Artists Network that I run into.
19 and 20 I will be at IMATS all day soaking in all the events and enjoying it all.
I fly out back to Michigan on Monday.
I still am looking for a roomate so if your looking for a place to stay let me know!
Lisa, Lynn, Kevin, Anthony, Michael, and everyone else.... have a great show. I'll try to make next year and have fun with y'all. Some of my greatest times as an artist among artists have happened at IMATS, lots of fun and learning to be had!
My name is Mikhailey Chiaratti. I’ll be attending Imats on Saturday the 19th. I was wondering if anybody needed a model for the Fashion Show or for your booth?
I already have a paid admission ticket for Saturday.
Your more then welcome to check out my portfolio and let me know.

Hey Lisa... look for the press photographer wearing the 'Hard Rock Cafe' hat (handsome 5'8" guy with brown hair / LOL) and I'll shoot a few images of your 'finished product' and email the best one to ya...

no retouching, you can actually see my lens
Cool shot... and yes... I'm guilty of a small amount of editing. I get rid of an occasional stray hair... alittle color inhancement here and there... maybe a slight makeup smudge imperfection. Also stuff like spots on mirrors, color shift corrections for unproperly white-balanced images... as well as contrast and density adjustments for over-exposed subjects...

see I treat it as an event, and i love to capture in the raw (except color adjustment) just what the artists are doing. More of news photographs.
Here is an editorial photograph of lisa's work where there was minimal editing done (the background is actually as is no editing required)
will be there tomorrow, if you want your photo on LA Weekly online just be nice (or gimmie stuff!) to the person with red hair, round glasses and a camera.
