I am pretty sure posing nude has not "pigeon-holed" me

I am pretty sure the Internet as a whole loves nude anything

I am pretty sure I do not want to see a nude pigeon hole......

I think as long as girls have boobs and guys have cameras...we will continue to see naked boobs on the internet...no matter someones opinion in a forum might say otherwise.

Lots of girls get naked for money, lots of girls like shooting nude because they just like to...not sure why it matters.   If you don't like seeing nudity turn on work-safe mode and problem solved.

I can only speak for myself but the biggest challenge for me is to model nude, so thats what I enjoy the most.

I enjoy doing nudes.  I don't care about being pigeon-holed, because if I wasn't doing nudes, I wouldn't be doing modeling at all since I'm too old, I don't have fashion stats, and I'm not into doing lingerie/glamour.

I don't think there are too many nude images on MM.  It's funny how some people choose to fixate on the nudes, claiming they make up most of what gets posted to MM.  A simple search proves that's not true.

There are not too many nude models, since it's obvious that there's more demand than supply.  I'ts generally much easier for nude models to find work (on MM) than it is for models who don't do nudes.

Is there was not an excess of nudes... I don't think there would be more nude models then regular models on MM... Juuust sayin. Also, this sprung from a search where no nudes was selected, and vuala - 75% of the people I clicked on - nudes came up. If you enjoy it by all means do it, if not then don't.

Just for the fun of it I decided to test the OP's 75% theory. There are 2642 female models on MM within 10 miles of Vancouver and 373 of those shoot nudes for a grand total of 14%.

i don't shoot a lot of nudes but that has nothing to do with not liking them. it has more to do with me wanting to have a purpose in doing them. but as for working with models i prefer to work with models who are open to posing nude. Why? because they aren't worried about a nip-slip or a whole boob showing. therefore, they commit to the shoot and they deliver what i'm looking for.

There aren't more nudes than demand.  And quality nudes don't bother me, crappy pictures do.

And, finally, site administrators have said that about 10% of images on MM are "M".   And, in general, 10-15% of models say yes to nudes.  Not 75% or anything close.

+1 Nudes have to be done right,,, they go crappy really fast if you don't know what your doing and go into I took pics of someone  naked place.  hmm

I am primarily a nude model, and I absolutely love it. Nothing is more comfortable to me than prancing in front of a camera in nothing but my own skin, and it has allowed me to learn so much about myself. But, on the flipside, I have found that it is a lot harder for me to find work in other genres. I am short, so commercial modeling is out of the question. But there are times when I would like to stretch my wings and try something new, something challenging. Modeling with clothing is way more intimidating to me than modeling nude. I am *slowly* trying out shoots that don't involve nudity at all, which is a whole different ball game.

Do I feel a bit pigeon-holed? Sometimes. But I love nude modeling too much to get frustrated about that. It's way too much fun. ^_^

in Vancouver ... at least 75% of portfolios include some sort of nude shots in them.

Really and truly?

When I searched MM's database, only 14.1% of the models in Vancouver had clicked "yes" to nudes on their portfolios.

Did you say something to the other 60.9% to get them to change their minds?

While I always enjoyed posing nude, I will say that it can start to limit your own personal creative development to some degree, because like Dekilah said, that's about the ONLY way people will ever want to photograph you --- even for trade.

Not being able to find new, different genres in which to grow, was probably one of the reasons I started to burn out near the beginning of 2011. I felt like I'd shot every type of nude there was to shoot, so continuing to shoot them was becoming stagnant, boring and unexciting.

I do plan on resuming shooting here shortly, after close to a year and a half off, but this time, I plan on being more assertive, and specific in regards to what I will/will not shoot.

I believe it when people say this, but I don't get it.  I prefer to shoot full nudes as part of a session, but when possible, I also include partially nude, lingerie, and fully clothed shots.  I enjoy the variety.  But, I'm more comfortable asking a nude model to put clothing on for part of a shoot than I am asking a clothed model to take everything off.

From a long time ago, when I was pretty new, a shoot with a "nude model."  Now, I'd do the same sort of thing, broadly, if I had the opportunity to shoot with such a model again.

You're nice enough to put on clothing when asked smile

I have 2 profiles here on MM.  One is my main portfolio with no nudes and one is my alternate portfolio (this one) with nudes.  Plus I also have my own website with no nudes and more commercial shots.

I only use my main portfolio (with no nudes) or personal website when submitting for non-nude castings.  I use this profile when submitting for casting that involve nudity.  This way I am showcasing pictures that are relevant to the casting call.

Nudity: Models don't have to do it. But other models do.

Nudity: Photographers don't have to shoot it. But other photographers do.

The great power common to both is the power of choice.

Ultimately, it is up to you, as an individual, to choose which path to go.

It doesn't have to be a pigeon hole.

Pretty much all my work is nude. Started that way; never really moved out of it. Would I work in clothes, yes; do I care if I don't, not really. I suppose I consider it a specialty, not a trap.

shooting nudes is fun. and sometimes it can be downright sexy. i have models who throw a fit if i try to make them wear clothes. they just are happier without them and who am i to complain?

nudes is one way for models to get paid around here so that could explain some of what you see.

regarding models if i see they do nudes i make the assumption that they'll be more flexible and easier to work with. generally they are free spirits.

Please remember, this is only a question to those who do not fully enjoy doing nudes but do them anyways. Not knocking those who do, just see massss amounts, with and without models who could do fine without them.

I have no problem with nudes; in fact, I have been known to enjoy them.

What I can't stand is lame photography.
