Hi,

I've been mostly into illustration, but lately I have been wanting to get into photography. I recently had a photo shoot with a model, and am hoping that more experienced photographers here can provide honest criticism of my photos. The photos from that shoot are in my portfolio.

If you don't have the time to go through the portfolio, I'm providing one shot here that I think worked out particularly well:

I'd love to hear any kind of feedback you may have.

Thanks!

It looks as if you shot using available light and nothing to fill. Otherwise they seem a bit dark. Saying that, there are a few shots that have potential imo, starting with the following.

I would have had the model connect with the camera with her eyes in this.

This one may have worked had you not cropped half her head off, due to that crop and poor lighting, it doesn't not work for me. 18+https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … de6b53.jpg

This one, have the model roll her left shoulder back a little more to add form and curves to her physique. Also have her look into the lens ie: connect with the camera. 18+https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … f472ad.jpg

The image you link to in your OP is not loading for me nor would this one load.

The rest imo are not portfolio worthy due to poor lighting, bad cropping, and or just a bad capture.

Thanks TRPn Pics,

Your feedback is much appreciated. I'm not sure why that image is not loading for you.. I had some problems loading it myself earlier, but it's fine for me now.

Proper lighting is something I have to learn how to do. I suspected the images were too dark, but I'm glad to have that confirmed.
