The post was an obvious rant. That is all it was. I am sorry for getting people involved. I will not rant again. When someone says something I don't like I will ignore it.

According to everyone "It's not an attack, its an opinion." Well I have an opinion too. All of you crabby people need to take a happy pill once in a while and realize no one is perfect. Everyone has flaws, sorry mine seem to bother so many people.
Honestly you should probably stay out of the forums if you don't have thick enough skin to wade through all the bs. People can be pretty big assholes on here. It's sad, but in truth the world if full of assholes.
Edit: Not to say that there aren't a bunch of wonderful people on here who truly want to help, but you'll run into trolls if you like to play in the forums. You can accept the fact or choose not to participate. You aren't going to change anything by creating a post like this.
alot on here can't determine what or take an opinion without finding a negative aspect to it. One sentence can be read in many ways, and a lot it is read one way, and then the ire begins.

I guess that is the truth there. All I want is advice not you suck at this, and you will never be as good as so and so. I don't care about that crap.

Aah! It is a clash of opinions then... not really an attack.
Be confident and hold your head up, and engage in the skirmish then...
It will only be an attack if you give up and fall down...

Yea that's totally understandable, and I can appreciate that.
If you can't take criticism and critique, you shouldn't be involved in the hobby that you are. Art is all about giving and taking opinions and learning from them. You have been here almost a year, have yet to produce any new work, besides self shots, and you haven't taken any of the advice that has been given you.
So ya, you are gonna catch attitude. People only offer their advice for so long before they get tired of being asked.

I should post the link to the forum I am ranting about. It was a post I posted from my retouching profile, and I asked a question and went on to be attacked because I am a slow learner and have trouble understanding Photoshop.

Unless you want to give my husband a job, or pay me so I can have gas money and clothes to go and get more photos, then don't assume you know what's going on.
My damned photos are not self taken, wow anyone can see that.

Self taken can be with a timer. If you can't even afford to get to shoots, this conversation is pointless. Quit making excuses. Either model, or don't.

Without reading the thread... I can tell you that you have to be careful how you approach a bunch of professionals in a tightly fought over market...
If you appear less than knowledgeable, than it's being expected by a professional... or semi-professional... they will rip you apart.
Maybe I am wrong, and I am too tired to read up on that thread (my apologies), but if I am right, I suggest to eat the humble pie and reflect on what the people are saying to you and go back to learn and understand the basics if you want to enter the professional realm.
But that's not the point... the photos you have displayed do not reflect skills of an actual photographer... and no, you can not tell that those are not self taken.
However, your reaction shows that you are too sensitive to criticism... and maybe that's the way how the arguments are ending up in the Retoucher's forum?!

They are not taken with a timer ok. Sorry to burst your bubble.
How is not being able to afford it an excuse? This "profession" or hobby requires money and when you just don't have it, it really isn't an excuse.

I am sorry if I can't afford Photoshop and all the thousands of extra's it has.

Again I never said I didn't want to learn. I just don't have the tools for that at the moment."

Hey good news! Photoshop Elements version 9 is only about a $100! No kidding.
Also, there's some good magazines that deal on retouching for about $12.95.
Those two aren't much of a big mountain. And PSE works on average computers.
Now that's a sort of a positive goal to take, ain't it?

Honestly I am not too sensitive, I am just sick of it. I am more pissed then anything. I have a thick skin and have had to most of my life. I just get mad and let loose. That's all. My photos were taken by my husband not a professional. I had to put pics on here to join.

If someone can't afford the hobby, they don't participate in the hobby. How are you sitting here bickering with me about how you can't even get to a shoot and it's not your fault? lmao. People aren't going to roll out the red carpet for you, you have to work for it. Many models, like myself, are just hobbiest. But, we spend money on this hobby. Hair, MU, clothing, transportation, manicures, daily care of our selves. It is a pay to play game, just the way it is.

Yeah, there was some unnecessary rudeness in there. But most of what was written to you was just bluntly stated, not attacking. The bits of rudeness were actually pretty mild compared to a lot of what goes on in these forums.

It's an awesome software, and they have special offers at holiday times... I wouldn't be surprised if they had the next one around Valentines.
It's usually $69 when they run a special... you can also have a 30 free trial... it's less than photoshop, does a lot of retouching and takes less space and processing power.
I am using it for years... and the current version, just came out and is super powerful!

Life is like that, sometimes. If you really want it, you'll make it happen.
Can't drive? Want an escort?
Clear out space in your house, paint the walls matte white- invite photographers to shoot on your turf. Lounge around in your jammie-jams and then roll out of bed and shoot. Sweet.
Whatever it takes. I had a networking dinner for models last night. I found out it would take me four buses to get there, and it'd take an hour and a half. Only an hour walk.
I walked.
Get shit done and stop making excuses. Do, or do not.
