Ask the photographer you're doing the shoot with.

I agree. Either ask your photographer, or look up tutorials on YouTube for whatever style you are looking to create.

Yeah, asking the photographer would be the best thing. In particular, ask whether you include colors or not. also, "heavy" vs "light" make-up.

However, as a photographer, I have really few ideas to give my models on this topic hmm

Kaylee at sixteen you are just beginning in this industry...

Please understand it's in your best interest to always ask if make-up, hair and wardrobe will be provided...

If not then request "concept" image(s) from the session's creative director... guessing it might be the photographer in this case since you weren't already provided the necessary information in the form of a Call Sheet which is SOP i.e. standard at the agency level...

While I'm uncertain about your market, here in the States emerging talent can oft visit a high end retail counter and request a product demo of a requested "look"... if they are slow many times they will be happy to showcase their product line (and may even provide a weeks supply smile free)... if they are busy, best not to even ask unless you are prepared to invest in product, hope this makes sense...

As a model, unless you are also the client, wardrobe, hair and make-up is completely at the discretion of the creative director on the session...

hope this helps...

Youtube is incredibly helpful. When there's no MUA available for a look, I search through youtube and practice a certain look, so I'm able to re-create it at the shoot. For darker looks, it's always very important to create a very even skintone, so use some foundation! Also, if you have slightly oily/shiny skin, be sure to apply enough pressed powder to your face, as a camera flash will highlight any shiny bit.
