Its 8am. Good morning.
I just got home since 11am yesterday.
Lets rewind....
2pm yesterday, i discover my car has broken in a crazy way while attempting to repair it at my parent's house. Really long story there.
This leaves me car-less and stranded at my parents house for the night.
10pm water to their house is cut off because a main pipe down the street froze and broke.
3am I finally get to sleep after too much on my mind, and not being comfortable.
5am My Dad and I go to my house so he can shower and get ready for work, cause theres no water at his house. BUT Shortly after arriving at my house my Mom calls him and says the water is back on at their house. We head back to my parent's house.
6am We're back at my parents house. I'm stranded again and waiting until...
7am My Mom goes to take care of my sister's kids at my sisters house, so my sister can get ready for work. I go with my Mom and take my Moms car back to my house.
8am I get home. Finally! but not for long. I make this post, and then at...
9:30am I will have to leave my house, take my Moms Car back to my Sister's house. Pick up my Mom, and my Sister's kids take them to my Mom's house where they will be for most the day because at....
10:30am I have to pick up a model and MUA at BART (train) Station, In my Mom's car and bring them back to my place for a shoot.
Make up and Styling will probably take until noon before we start shooting.
I then need to complete the shoot by mid afternoon, get the model and MUA back to BART and get my Mom's car back to my Mom at her house.
THEN having slept less than 2 hours and not much more the night before last, I need to try to reassemble my overly complicated broken car in a way to get it to run well enough to be reliable around town until i figure out a permanent / affordable solution to the problem.
*deep breath*
i just want to go to sleep so bad right now! ...but i can't. I only got about an hour to straighten up my place a little, make myself presentable, and start studio set up.
so it's a body paint shoot,...
she didnt start painting until about 45 minutes ago, started late
and its going to take a while to finish the paint.
i got some time to kill right now.
only bad part is i have to get my mom her car back by 4pm...
its almost 1pm now.
which means by the time were ready to shoot, i'll probably have to figure out how to get my mom her car back, and then get back to my house.... then after we find time to shoot, i have to get them back to BART so i'll need a car and then, i won't have time to try repairs on my car today because it'll be cold and dark.
i'm debating leaving them here, and boucing to my moms house and trying to repair my car while theyre in makeup.
hmmmpph

you wish, perv! the half naked model next to me being painted, doesnt do nudes
so i went to my parent's house, and put my car back together!
nothing gave me any fuss. i did it hella quick.
i had to bolt in a section of exhaust onto the turbo, connect it to the rest of the car's exhaust, and install a wastegate actuator to the turbo and run vacuum lines.
it took me less than 45 minutes, while my three year old Niece talked to me the entire time, ..and my Mom made me a sandwich while i was there. Thanks Mom.
Tonight I'll recheck all the bolts to make sure its tightened down.
Freakin awesome!
Well, awesome except that its running on borrowed time. I need to rebuild or replace the turbo.
The hinge to the wastegate door inside the turbo is damaged where it passes thru the housing so it's not moving like it should.
Kinda like how the door to your house won't close if the door frame is bent.
Its unable to vent off the extra pressure properly.
I have it wedged open a little bit, to try to control from overboosting, but if its open too much all the time, then all the pressure will escape as the turbine spins with no resistance until it explodes/melts/siezes. If it's closed too much the extra pressure being force fed into my engine will cause the motor to pop.
Fortunately my tuner wrote a code into my engine programming, that when the values exceed a safety barrier, the engine pulls spark and runs rich to prevent major damage.
The main fault in the whole equation is me.
I'm addicted to acceleration, and my car has more than plenty.
I'm basically driving a race car on the street that now has the power to blow itself up if i floor it, and i have no self control.

I've done some things to my vehicle, but I wish I had more tech.
Mostly because I'm about to pass on a bike that they SAY only needs a carb cleaning.

I know nothing about bikes, except I'm not responsible enough to ride one.
Within 15 minutes, I'd probably be trying to do a burnout while sitting on the handle bars and kill myself. I'd be yelling out DMX lyrics the whole time like a fool.
Carb cleaning is simple, you're right to suspect that if that was the only problem, they most likely wouldnt be selling it.

Take a safety class, you'll become responsible real quick!
It's a dealer, but it's in another state. The bike is fucking cheap though. So I tend to trust that the carbs probably do need to be cleaned out. I've just never done that. and I'm scared I'll end up with the whole bike in a pile somewhere.
I'm also worried that it's not JUST the carbs, it will be 7 other things, they I'll have a bike I need to pay to have fixed, when I could have gotten something that is ready!

you underestimate my disregard for self preservation.
famous last words "hey! watch this!"
here comes Damon and I on our bikes and I'm like:
"Stop!, drop! shut 'em down open up shop! Oh, noOooOOooOO!!!
That's how Ruff Ryders roOoOoOLLLLL!!!!!"
yesterday it took the body painter like 8 hours to paint the model. it looked cool, but wow. super long day. then we shot for like an hour.
i'd shot with the model before and she asked me to shoot that for her, i didnt realize how long it was gonna take.
