Did my first nude photo shoot over the weekend, and have the first three edited to the point where I think I'm satisfied with them. If I could have some feedback, maybe what I'm doing right or could change upon (lighting, editing, posing the model, etc..) I would appreciate it.

Concept - A 1960's rising to fame singer teases her fans in the wake of the sexual revolution.

last three submitted in my profile

I also think the third one is my strongest (also all are 18+)

I like the first one. She's best engaged with the viewer there, IMO.

What was your lighting setup? It looks like a main light camera right and then a kicker light camera left?

I really like the first one. I like the hair light on the left. The third one is good but I would darken the paper on the lower right area.. Just might thoughts on the paper if you don't do it that doesn't make it wrong.

I like the first one as well. The other 2 have her face pretty dark and uninviting.

yea pretty much, I only have 2 lights and I wanted to make sure I had an edge light with some separation

otherwise thanks for the suggestions smile I'll have to make some adjustments and see how they work out

All are good, but my preference is number one.

+1 on the paper. I hate working with black paper because slight imperfections are just a little more noticeable and therefore need to be tended to when lighting (flagging the light) or in post.

Nice shots for your first nudes.

Thank you, and actually the background is a velour grey backdrop. thought it was a good compromise material in-between muslin and paper. was a little tricky to work with, but I'm glad the results show.

Yeah, it looks like it could have used a little fill. But I agree that the edge light was necessary, so you probably made the right call on where to use your second light.

I like the first one the most.  nice interaction with the model.

The no shoes with stockings kind of annoys me.  I don't know why.  Naked with shoes, fine, naked no shoes fine, but naked with stockings and no shoes not fine in my world.

another opinion

Yea I know what you mean, the model was actually supposed to bring shoes to the shoot. I supplied the wig, stockings, and props. She failed to bring the one thing I asked her to bring. I just had to let it go, I'll take it as the fact that maybe I wasn't supposed to shoot with her wearing shoes.

On my maternity shoot she forgot shoes too.  She was wearing boots to the shoot.  We went mostly shoeless.  smile
