Your favorite lens (of the moment) ?
Mine changes on occasion... but at the moment (and on a regular basis) is the EF 100mm f/2.0 Played around today shooting INTO an 86" PLM... love the soft wraparound look. But damn, I love this lens right now, even wide open. Jan 21 13 01:22 am Link I agree, but a close second is the 85mm. Great resolution, pin sharp Jan 21 13 01:26 am Link my favourite is a 170-500mm but i do not shoot models with it however. Jan 21 13 01:28 am Link For me it doesn't change, the 100mm macro non IS Canon. Jan 21 13 01:31 am Link Neil Snape wrote: I debated that vs the 2.0 (both about the same price) - like the OOF of the 2.0 better, but still a nice sharp lens. Might pick up the macro at some point to play around with legit macro, though. Jan 21 13 01:33 am Link One my favorite lens that I shoot a lot is the AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED. I really like it for EP work. FlickrAnselNeg by FullMetalPhotographer, on Flickr The next favorite that i don't use enough is my AT-X 300 AF PRO -TOKINA 300mm f/2.8 JillSharp02 by FullMetalPhotographer, on Flickr AirShowDayOne120101611 by FullMetalPhotographer, on Flickr Jan 21 13 01:34 am Link Of my five lenses the Olympus 14-54 gets the most use closely followed by the 40-150. Starkey Jan 21 13 02:11 am Link Nikon 50mm * melts* Jan 21 13 02:16 am Link Nikkor 16-35mm F/4 VR on my D800 is my current favorite. Then the 85mm F/1.8 Nikkor. My favorite lens of all time was the 50mm Distagon on both my Rollie and my Hasselblad back in my film days. I'd say 2/3rds of my negatives were shot with one of the versions of that lens. THen there was a 240 Goertz Dagor I loved on my 8x10. Jan 21 13 02:49 am Link Canon 35mm 1.4 most of the time. When I don't, it's the 50mm 1.4, or the 100 macro. Jan 21 13 02:57 am Link Canon 70-200mm 2.8 V2. Pin sharp wide open Jan 21 13 03:03 am Link 70-200 vrI Nikon - If I had the 24-120 f4 - it would be my favorite Jan 21 13 03:21 am Link My 85mm 1.2L. It's my work horse lens. Jan 21 13 03:25 am Link Don't own one but have used it a few times, the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8. In my bag now would be my 50mm 1.8. Jan 21 13 04:06 am Link The Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR2 is my longtime workhorse; I love this lens. But my favorite lens, when I'm able to use it, is the 200 f2 - it's heavy but the images from this lens are truly stunning. Jan 21 13 04:16 am Link For me the lens is either the EF-100mm f/2.8L Macro or the EF-85 f/1.8 on the 5D and the EF-28-135mm on the 50D Jan 21 13 04:38 am Link For the type of work that I do (fashion/beauty shots at several different locations, most of which I've never visited before) I love my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 D which I use to do 80% of my shots. More than 50mm is usually "too close" to my subject. With my Nikon D800 I can easily crop down to get the look of a longer lens if I want. Jan 21 13 05:01 am Link My 'desert island' lenses would be my Nikkor 14-24 f2.8, and micro 105 f2.8 VR. Jan 21 13 05:35 am Link Lorin Edmonds wrote: Got that one... definitely one of my faves... ... got too many favorite Nikon lenses... very hard to decide... Jan 21 13 05:46 am Link Right now it's the new Canon 24-70 f2.8 V2. It's a game changer in terms of shooting at f2.8 - which I do a lot. My lens is as sharp in the centre at f2.8 as f8 and the corners are pretty amazing too! The focussing is bang on with the incredible 5d3. Just exceptional engineering. Canon have a right to feel very proud. Jan 21 13 06:23 am Link 85mm 1.8! I am in love, wait, no, maybe in LUST with this lens! Being as I used to be a welder, I may just weld this to my 5D MKII! Jan 21 13 07:30 am Link I use my Canon 17-55 f2.8 IS the majority of the time. My Tokina 50-135 f2.8 is a strong second. Jan 21 13 07:37 am Link My Pentax FA 50, 1.4, a close second would be my Pentax DA 18-250, that thing is amazingly sharp, throughout it's range!! Jan 21 13 07:41 am Link nikon 85mm 1.4d cream machine Jan 21 13 07:44 am Link always the 85mm prime Masha, August 7, 2012 Jan 21 13 07:50 am Link My favorite since I bought it about three weeks ago is the Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art lens. I don't take it off my 5D. I shoot indoors mostly now since it's freezing so I haven't used anything else. It is a great lens from what I can see. It isn't weather sealed but so what...for 900 bucks it's a fucking steal!..... Jan 21 13 08:16 am Link Arax 80mm f2.8 Jan 21 13 02:03 pm Link -JAY- wrote: I shoot with the lens needed for the job... Jan 21 13 02:11 pm Link Minolta 50mm 1.4 on Sony A850. Jan 21 13 02:16 pm Link 50mm Pathé Panavisions b-series anamorphics (re-housed for the last film) - 1960s glass soft and lower contrast, slight pastel look. Jan 21 13 02:23 pm Link I don't use it as much as I'd like, but the Canon 100mm f/2.8L has been my favorite since I bought it. Jan 21 13 03:03 pm Link Its a hard choice between the Nikon 135 f/2 DC and the 7-200 f/2.8 VR2... I'm going with the 135, today. Jan 21 13 03:06 pm Link On my old crop sensor body I shot most of the time with a Canon 50/1.4, sometimes Canon 35/2. Couple of months ago bought a full frame body, now it's a mix of 50/1.4 and 85/1.8. Jan 21 13 03:09 pm Link Don't laugh, but my favorite lens right now is my Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 for models. Jan 21 13 03:17 pm Link I'm pretty sure it will continue to be my Zeiss AF 135 1.8. But I love my other AF Zeiss primes a lot just as well. The 135 is kinda the king. Jan 21 13 03:18 pm Link Tamron F2.8 28-75 for people and indoors Sony 18-250 F3.5-6.3 for a super walk-around lens. Jan 21 13 03:19 pm Link Rokinon 85mm f1.4, SMC Pentax 50mm f1.7, Sigma 28mm f2.8 on a crop sensor Pentax K-X. They're all my favorite. Jan 21 13 03:25 pm Link Nikon 17-55 f/2.8 Jan 21 13 03:40 pm Link Currently the Nikkor 105 DC f2 Jan 21 13 03:53 pm Link |
