Mine changes on occasion... but at the moment (and on a regular basis) is the EF 100mm f/2.0

Played around today shooting INTO an 86" PLM... love the soft wraparound look. But damn, I love this lens right now, even wide open.

I agree, but a close second is the 85mm. Great resolution, pin sharp

I debated that vs the 2.0 (both about the same price) - like the OOF of the 2.0 better, but still a nice sharp lens. Might pick up the macro at some point to play around with legit macro, though.

One my favorite lens that I shoot a lot is the AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED. I  really like it for EP work.

Of my five lenses the Olympus 14-54 gets the most use closely followed by the 40-150.

Nikkor 16-35mm F/4 VR on my D800 is my current favorite. Then the 85mm F/1.8 Nikkor. My favorite lens of all time was the 50mm Distagon on both my Rollie and my Hasselblad back in my film days. I'd say 2/3rds of my negatives were shot with one of the versions of that lens. THen there was a 240 Goertz Dagor I loved on my 8x10.

Canon 35mm 1.4 most of the time. When I don't, it's the 50mm 1.4, or the 100 macro.

Don't own one but have used it a few times,  the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8.

In my bag now would be my 50mm 1.8.

The Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR2 is my longtime workhorse; I love this lens.  But my favorite lens, when I'm able to use it, is the 200 f2 - it's heavy but the images from this lens are truly stunning.

For me the lens is either the EF-100mm f/2.8L Macro or the EF-85 f/1.8 on the 5D and the EF-28-135mm on the 50D

For the type of work that I do (fashion/beauty shots at several different locations, most of which I've never visited before) I love my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 D which I use to do 80% of my shots. More than 50mm is usually "too close" to my subject. With my Nikon D800 I can easily crop down to get the look of a longer lens if I want.

My 'desert island' lenses would be my Nikkor 14-24 f2.8, and micro 105 f2.8 VR.

Right now it's the new Canon 24-70 f2.8 V2.

It's a game changer in terms of shooting at f2.8 - which I do a lot. My lens is as sharp in the centre at f2.8 as f8 and the corners are pretty amazing too! The focussing is bang on with the incredible 5d3. Just exceptional engineering.

Canon have a right to feel very proud.

85mm 1.8! I am in love, wait, no, maybe in LUST with this lens! Being as I used to be a welder, I may just weld this to my 5D MKII! big_smile

I use my Canon 17-55 f2.8 IS the majority of the time.  My Tokina 50-135 f2.8 is a strong second.

My Pentax FA 50, 1.4, a close second would be my Pentax DA 18-250, that thing is amazingly sharp, throughout it's range!!

My favorite since I bought it about three weeks ago is the Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art lens. I don't take it off my 5D. I shoot indoors mostly now since it's freezing so I haven't used anything else.  It is a great lens from what I can see. It isn't weather sealed but so what...for 900 bucks it's a fucking steal!.....

I currently shoot Nikon and have a 105/2.5 AIS but am quite envious of the Canon 100/f2...really wish Nikon would would match that lens feature for feature dollar for dollar.

Its a hard choice between the Nikon 135 f/2 DC and the 7-200 f/2.8 VR2... I'm going with the 135, today. smile

On my old crop sensor body I shot most of the time with a Canon 50/1.4, sometimes Canon 35/2. Couple of months ago bought a full frame body, now it's a mix of 50/1.4 and 85/1.8.

I'm pretty sure it will continue to be my Zeiss AF 135 1.8.

But I love my other AF Zeiss primes a lot just as well.  The 135 is kinda the king.
