Placing a casting call for a specific kind of shoot...

Having a model respond and say, I won't do that, but I'll do this... AND I still want the advertised pay!

WTF did you answer the casting call if you don't want to do the shoot the casting call was for?

Does an actor show up to play Peter Pan and tell director to change the script to a sci-fi thiller instead because they don't like Children's Fairy Tales?

Arg....

Okay, rant over...  Probably not the first time it has happened.

And yes, this happened to me one other time.  But it happened AT the shoot.  Model was sent home with no pay.

I don't know if this qualifies as an unsolicited critique or not ... but I don't think this rant is silly at all.  As has been said, who answers a casting call for Peter Pan but wants to be Luke Skywalker?

A person either fits the criteria for a casting call or they don't.  I'd understand a person saying "I found your casting call. I don't fit it, but I'd like to work with you one day if you ever need someone like me" or "This casting call sounds really interesting. I don't meet the criteria, but I hope it goes well, anyway ... or even "I don't quite fit the criteria for this casting call, but if you'll take me anyway, I'll take less money to do it because I really want it".

I've said it before, I'll say it again ... I'm allergic to stupid people.
