If I were to use a photo of that sign commercially, I wouldn't mind dropping a nickel in the bucket.
after further thoughts. When you think about it, if you have a photo that you gave usages for lets say march of dimes. Then you started seeing it being used to make other companies money!
Or your photo you gave limited usages to the city of Portland to lets say promote a city fund raiser or something and companies thought then they could use it without even asking?
At 1st thought I thought, WTH. But then you really think it through there is nothing wrong with what they are doing. I think the words "public domain" are very misunderstood and abused.
If it helps the city of Portland who funds allot of very helpful programs then good for them!
My second home is in Oregon. One very important thing I like about Oregon is no taxation without representation. Anyone can walk into there office and they will show you there books every penny.
Plus they Don't have sales tax. and there DMV
Is pretty inexpensive. My plates (because of My husband's Veterans stat) are only 18.00 a life time. And they get us into all state parks free as well as half price in the state campgrounds (which are beautiful). Oregon is a state that treats there Vets with respect.
