I answered a casting about test shooting for a magazine and got a response back saying it would be $350. Anything I have tested for in the past I haven't had to pay for. Is this pretty standard and I've just been getting lucky?
No reputable magazine charges for a "test". This sounds like a load
of shit thrown out by some bullshit "publication". Probably more like
a glorified blog, I'd guess.

It's not the publication charging that I know of, the photographer is submitting to the mag so I am assuming the charge is from him.
