WOW...
For the alt models/character actors or guiness book of world records people with freaky abilities, it works and the cheeky concept is really cool. They are making a bold statement by having an agency dedicated to it...But for the others, this is really just kind of sad and looks like a rip off scam.

Actually a reputable character agency. But their NY office did close.

I have been with Ugly for years and know many many others who are part of the agency.
The money is usually pretty damned good and you get all kinds of cool jobs

If you're with the agency, ugly must have a completely different meaning to what I always thought it had.
I hadn't heard of this before but the list of models really confused me and maybe that's part of the problem it didn't work in NYC. I see such a wide range of individuals - from the absolutely stunning, to fashion and glamour types , to unique and interesting characters, to "what the hell?" that it makes me wonder who they wouldn't accept?
And if it doesn't give the perception that their is some exclusivity in their representation, what is this company offering other than a database of people with photos? Why not just pick someone off the street if you're a client?
Much of the allure of an Agency model is that you know they meet certain standards, but it's also that you know they are discerning in who they represent. So there is the perception by the client that they're getting something in-demand and special.
I'm actually very surprised, other than as a short-term novelty, that this company would thrive.
