The last time a model I shot hooked up with a photographer I knew, I got an e-mail from him asking me to take down all of her nudes.   Damned photographers.

I'm tired of llamas sleeping with me. I'd prefer them awake for the sexxoring. As it were.

Basically. One of em talked me into marrying him.

I never get why this is such a hard concept. Models are people too. Photographers are people too. What do you do when you're attracted to anyone else in the world? You either act on it or you don't.

we had so much fun on our shoot and we eally liked eachother... after the shoot, he asked me if I would like to stay for dinner, so we barbecued by the water until the sun went down, and I took the last train home. We kept seeing eachother... 2 months later we were officially dating, and we've been together a year and a half now smile

A young 16 year old model hit on me. It was capital W WEIRD. Made sure there were people around the shoot to make it appropriate.

While I think there are one or two that fancied me, no such luck in them coming forward or them flirting

It is legal, but be aware that the model could still be underage. There are models who lie about their age

I have never really been attached to any of the photographers I have shot with, because I have been too busy thinking about posing and trying to ignore that annoy little nagging doubtful voice that you have in the back of your head that comes up with all the most horrible things that can happen. Like the Photos not looking good or not being model material.

You know that mean little voice in the back of your head that if you go up to a really high place and look down it says "Jump you dumb bastard, you can fly."

I hate that asshole.

Do it, for a fee. Just business.

Say that the photos bring you work, so, for your time and trouble to replace them, he has to pay you. 100% reasonable.

If it were merely a myth... there wouldn't be so many "Penthouse Letters" around!

(I am just guessing that there must be hundreds of testimonies in those letters! wink )

This is what I was thinking as well. If your both single who cares, there is no unwritten rule I know of that says photographers and models cannot date.... is there?

This.

What ruins the common sense of it all is when someone you're not attracted to makes a move, doesn't quit and gets pissed that it is not requited.

Then it becomes unprofessional:)

Tough call but some people need to be clunked over with a gong to 'get' that their affections can be returned. Some women are old-school and like the man to ask the woman out first.

some photographers might be reluctant to hit on a model for fear of winding up the subject of a thread in the models forum (that creepy photographer said "X, Y and Z". the nerve of that guy). but if a model lets the photographer know they are interested in more ...

just try not to sully both your reputations. then again terry richardson is doing fine last time i checked.

there's also this theory you see floated about that once a photographer and model have sex that kills the sexual tension that makes the pictures really good. alas i have yet to test that theory.

Sexual tension is another word for immature frustration.

Quieted romantic admiration, something far more beautiful.

that sounds classy but for me it either stirs or it doesn't. i find myself more affected by our paying boudoir customers than models for the most part. we had a geeky, sexy librarian the other day who was just awesome (she had dewey decimal numbers tattooed on her arm!) maybe it's because it's usually their first time in front of the camera so they're really excited (like a newbie model).

This, especially since there are 'rules' against photographers hitting on models. Granted, not all photographers follow those rules, but enough do that you might want to break the ice yourself.
