So in just the last year of posting photos to Flickr from my more risque work, I have had photos viewed over 4.6 million times!!  To me that is pretty damn good viewing!  Typically over 10,000 views a day.  But SOOOO fed up with Flickr's BS!  They have locked my account as all restricted several times saying I am out of compliance.  After asking them how I am out of compliance since how am I supposed to know among several thousand photos which they don't think I have set properly to safe, moderate or restricted they have now locked account as restricted for next 30 days.  Which means I am getting under 2,000 views a day now instead of 10,000.  Not to mention all of the wasted time of arguing with them.

So what is an equally good if not better alternative for sharing content that I am currently sharing on Flickr?  What other sites do you recommend and why?

How are you monetizing these views? 10k or 2k views per day gets you????????
Does Flickr have an ad program that pays per impression?

I've run into trouble with the Flickr police back when I first started and was thinking everything was "Safe" simply because there was no nudity or it was implied.

Quick rule of thumb:

Restricted: full body nudes or has vagina.
Moderate: Shows booty (like a g string or thong) or boobs (including poky nipples through clothes). Focus on the usual sexualised body parts even if clothed. Best example is the cameltoe.
Safe: No focus on the usual sexualised body parts.

If there's any hint of sex like a sex toy, it's either moderate or restricted.

Flickr (and all other public sites) sets their own TOS.  Make your own website and you make the rules for content.

I'm going to have to echo this statement.

I used to be very active on Flickr and thought it was great to have so many people looking at my work daily.  Much like the OP I became frustrated with their rules and enforcement.  Several times my account was suspended because I supposedly violated some rule but they would never tell me exactly what I did wrong so I could fix it.  Images that contained no nudity or even suggested sexual conduct were flagged.  Twice I was accused of "stealing" other people's photographs when in fact the person flagging me was ripping ME off.

Then I slowly began to realize Flickr was getting me nowhere.  Sure, lots of people where looking at my work, but ultimately they were just "liking" it and adding my images to their own groups or collections.  Thanks to Flickr's rules around "mature" images I was not allowed to add any external links to my descriptions so anyone finding my stuff on another page would have no way to trace back to me.  I wasn't even allowed to use Flickr to push my work to other social media like Twitter, again because Flickr severely limits what one can do with images marked mature.

So whether I was getting 10 page views a day or 10 million, what was the point?

But hey, that's just me...

Set up your own photo site by buying a domain at namecheap.com (i have domains there, webmasters praise it, and i find it to be cheap, powerful, easy to use). Compare the terms of service at e.g. 500px.com with that of namecheap. I too got tired of all the BS e.g. having my email hosted by certain commercial websites that offer free email, I set up my own private email server, so no more tracking by those commercial 'free email' sites.  Get a geek friend, set up your own domain. Pretty much all domain sites like namecheap have easy click and install app for photo galleries, photo sharing, email, etc. Use or lose, just an idea. Once you set up a domain like blah.com you can have unlimited subdomains (no extra cost) like myphotos.blah.com and so on.

Nope, it's pure ego stroking.
