Yep.  Good friend, mentor and all around great human being.  He introduced me to some amazing people, including my best friend.  My life would certainly be less without his friendship.  Other names have come up including Roger's and Bob's and both were tremendous additions to the site.  Unfortunately, they too were chased away in the pursuit of not offending those who's egos far outstrip their abilities.

Since he's already been "outed".  Here's a little snipped from OGR.   Certainly not his best photograph, not even close in my opinion as his fashion work is amazing, but considering that it is one of the most iconic album covers of all time (not to mention it's probably the most copied album cover of of all time):

Does he have a site of any kind? Or is there some place to see more of his work online?

I would suggest Dan Howell as one of the best: https://www.modelmayhem.com/8116

He also has a profile as Dan Howell Tearsheets. Besides his commercial/editorial spreads in mainstream mags, he has done many a shoot for glam rags, too.

See, I was all about Ken Marcus being about the only real "Legend" I know of on here, but if it's all about accomplishments outside of MM, Stephen Thorne is up there as well. I wish one day I can come back to this site as a "Winding down" period in my life!
https://www.modelmayhem.com/277819
But yeah. If we're talkin' worldwide, most well known photographer ever, SWINSKEY hit the nail on the head! lol

There is about a metric shit ton of photographers on here I respect highly though. Their work probably should be legendary one day.

That wasn't my shot...I was pointing out Select Models great work.

No, I WAS just for a minute...then I lost my damn contact lens. wink
It's just been no-name shit work ever since.

also:
Fred Greissing

Mike Collins
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/655287/viewall

And Neil Snape should be mentioned not only for his quality photography, but his willingness to share his knowlege.

And...of course...Ken's generous teaching amongst us we are so lucky to have...never to busy to answer.

To me, THAT mentoring is what makes a true legend.
I wish Dean Collins was here too.

Legendary in Model Mayhem by their contribution and activeness within the community or by the actual work they produce?
One of the best photographers I've met locally and always amazed by the quality of work he produces  https://www.modelmayhem.com/412676     or his site www.zeduce.org

Legendary is a tall order, lest Penn, Avendon and Bourdin have accounts from the afterlife or something.  Lets try Photographers who I really like - one name not mentioned so far is Jamie Nelson. Always loved her work, doesn't have much of a port on here anymore as you have to check her website.

So is there like 'an age requirement' for being listed here as 'legendary'?... over 50?... over 60?... OVER SEVENTY?... cause a few of you guys have listed MM members that are in 'the all caps' category... lol... and for the record... I'm NOT one of them... wink

It takes a while to become a legend. Most young people (under 60ish or so) haven’t made it yet. Most living people haven’t made it yet.

I’m trying to think of a “legendary” person in any field who is still living and under 60. Haven’t figured out any so far.

A ha, Jim Marshall - legendary rock photographer - of course he's dead, over 60, and not on MM. But I'd say he was legendary while alive, well before his death at age 74.

We used to have a guy on here who went by Old Guys Rule - he truly was legendary in both music and photography and also a great friend.  Shot more magazine covers, ads and album covers than you can imagine.  Dated the hottest actresses and models of their day and shot them all.  All.

Sadly, he was one of the many truly great and experienced photographers who were pushed away from this site to protect the dilettantes.

Indeed. His departure was a huge loss for the site.

Sounds like I should have not used the word Legend, Let me change it to The best, also trend setting and just smoking amazing photographers. And to be honest the names you have been throwing out there so far are all of the above as I see it.

Sadly most of the legends are no longer here or have been run off....

Roger Talley, Bob Randall, Steven Eastwood, Click Hamilton and OGR come to mind...

I think Mary Duprie and Sean Armenta are few and far between on here as well now days....

Thanks for editing my text and deleting the referenced comment.  Alhough AG nominated me, what I am NOT a recommended legendary candidate of is the 'over 70 years of age' category.  And as far as YOU getting a recommendation... DUDE... I checked your port... you have NO worries there... wink
