How it feels to have a gall bladder attack when they've never had one.

I had a pretty bad on yesterday, the first I've had since changing my diet, and probably the worst and longest I've had ever.

As a result, I decided to skip the gym as I didn't want to make it worse. Well, since I went to work today, my trainer called me a slacker (in a joking way) and my co-worker had the audacity to say I could have gone to the gym because it shouldn't exasperate my pain.

What.fuck.ever! Until he feels what I went through last night, he'll change his toon. I was lucky I was able to stand long enough to cook supper. And, if I was still in pain after 12 hours, I'd be in the hospital.

People suck! sad

Thanks.

I told my co-worker that he was being a tad insensitive with me and said "well, it's my two cents, if you don't like what I say then by all means don't listen to it."

Like wtf?! He thinks he is so righteous because he lost a shit-ton of weight and lectures me when I start to vent on how hard this diet change is for me. It's tough, like really tough, for me sometimes. And apparently, rapid weight loss can make gall symptoms worse.

I haven't lost a lot, but 8 pounds in two weeks is pretty substantial.

I had mine out laproscopic... it was easy as pie.

That was 1999... they may have improved since then.

They won't do surgery here unless they find something. Ultrasound came back normal, so next up is a CT scan, but I haven't been notified as to when that will be. If that doesn't shot anything then I have to get a scope sad

They did ultrasound and found small stones... but when he pulled them out he called them impressive. He thought I must have been an ironman to endure them... truth be told I only had one hospital worthy episode...

And that was a comedy sketch story all by itself.

Yep.  It's not just stones either (my ultrasound was clear as well), it's also how you process fats.

Have you tried an isolating diet to test which foods you react badly to?  I know I discussed this with you before.  It's not enough to "go on a diet".  You need to be extremely restrictive and then slowly add back individual foods to test each one.

Every since starting this, I have been remarkably pain free.

I've been on a fairly restrictive diet. I tried a new brand of hummus yesterday so I'm thinking that may be the culprit. I also work a very stressful job and that can cause attacks as well.

If he were a girl he'd understand more...most girls don't go just for cramps.  Guys don't have cramps so they assume the only reason not to go is if you're crippled or have the plague.

ETA:  not saying that the pain levels are comparable, just that it's something that's not apparent to others.

People think of things in terms of their own lives so if they haven't experienced it, it must be bullshit.

True. I think he thought I was making an excuse not to go to the gym.
