A runaway is different than "missing".
Hope she comes back ok!

Have any of you ever logged into your accounts, checked the little box and left your computer on? Have any of you saved your password and username in your browser? If she's missing and someone used the computer then that would easily account for why there's been a recent login. It could have been a parent or friend; we don't know. No need to jump to conclusions.

There is more information about her on the page.  The police have been notified.  She is now assumed to be with another girl named Elyssa who went missing on the same day.

The log ins were her family members.  Her laptop, cell phone and everything were left at home when she disappeared.

Sorry I lost this thread.  I wish I had more answers for these questions.  It seems no one really knows what the real story is or if she is with Caleb or Elyssa, or if she was even headed to a modeling gig.  Please just look out for her in your area or her license plate number or car.  She has been missing since February 5th.  Here is the Facebook page with info.

Parents using all her stuff and her accounts don't help. If shes somewhere that she can get to a computer and use the Internet, they'll contaminate the picture being painted by the people looking for her.

Actually that sort of sounds suspicious now that I say that. I'm wondering why she'd be out without her phone at all. That's not normal, especially for a 17 year old girl.

Something ins't right.

Well they were hoping to find some leads in her MM messages as to where she was.  That's why they are using her accounts but you do have a valid point there.  It wasn't like her to go anywhere without her phone, she is a 17 year old girl with places to be and friends to speak to.

Exactly. I understand looking for clues but if this is a legal issue maybe the mods can supply logs of messages. I've been in IT security for a long time. I know quite a bit about how to gather the data you need without tampering with the evidence.

I do find it awful suspicious that any electronic device that may have been used to track her was conveniently left home.

I say either she ran away and doesn't want to be found OR the parents know something they're not telling anyone.

What the hell? I'm a very unorganised man and even I cannot forget my phone when going to a gig.

How does a 17 year old girl forget her phone for a thing like that? So convenient for her not to be found hmm

If she really is missing then god I hope the best for her.

Yeah well, I don't know hmm something seems very off. According to a couple on facebook, they have added her personal account and been accepted, of course that could be her parents.

If she really is missing, which I doubt, her parents have tainted the facts and clues so much it'll be impossible to sort out fact from fiction.

With two kids, 17 and 20....  I have never seen them leave their cell phone behind. In the last 7 or 8 years, since I have had a smart phone, I have only left my phone at home once.
Same with my wife.
Same with my employees.
Same with every friend I have.

That's just an observation is all.

I find that one fact very bizarre.

About the people getting accepted to her profile.
The parents on the page said that they were ones accepting the friend requests because they are controlling her facebook account now...

she obviously planned it out to not be found when she ran away.
i wonder if she has a bank card that has been used? cause that would give away her location.
theres so many automated systems for reading license plates, it amazes me that the car hasn't been found in all that time.

Tainted the clues being used by internet detectives who think her parents shouldn't login to their daughter's account so that they (the internet detectives) can be free to speculate on whether or not it's child drama?

Really?

They had leads that she had been communicating with a guy named Caleb, I dont have all the information.  It seems to me they now think she is with two other girls instead.  I am still asking them questions myself.  She is my cousin and would usually let me know if she was okay if she was gone for this long. None of her friends have heard from her either.

Really?

No but with them logging on and off and checking and changing things on her accounts is muddling up any clues or evidence that may have once been evident.

Now it's all buried in bogus non meaning full times, dates and IP address'. The last time she logged on for instance, was it from her laptop? Was she home?  Do we know? Can we even still find out?

See what I'm saying? I'm telling you if she is missing and did not run away, the case was intentionally sabotaged.

That's true. Them loggin on her facebook and making it all private isn't helping much either.

Muddling it up for who? How? I think you might not be catching my drift.

Back-end MMDetectives trying to "get to the bottom of things" do not merit the courtesy of the parents doing or not doing anything in particular in regards to their daughter. Let's assume for a moment that she's actually missing and they have her computer and passwords; there are a variety of reasons to access the account. Perhaps there are incriminating emails from this "Caleb" that they need.

You refer to it as "buried in bogus non meaning full times" but how's that bogus? If you have someone's cell phone and you received it on Tuesday but the person went missing the Sunday prior, all the phone company needs to do is generate a log of the usage prior to a given date. Buried in bogus info? Sounds like you're jumping to a conclusion that the parents have done something nefarious based on a set of rather dubious assumptions.

The flyer above indicates that she left home on the 5th and that her phone was last used on the 6th.  How can that be if she left her phone at home?

If she was a runaway who wanted not to be found, she might leave her phone at home.

However, if correct, the phone was not left at home and was used the next day.

In any event, I hope she is found safe.

Chuckles. Unlikely in any meaningful way.

The police will probably obtain copies of her cell-phone records for the weeks leading up to her disappearance to see who she has been communicating with.

They will then likely request an audit trail from her Internet Provider for the same reasons (particularly to look for any financial resources that she may be hiding).

They will also track any known bank cards.

MM or FB chatter is relatively easy to filter so her parent activities are really not that big a deal.

Trying to disappear in today's world is exceedingly difficult unless you have the necessary expertise, connections, and significant financial resources.

To the OP - Hope your loved one is found quickly safe and sound.

Yeah I get that but imagine this scenario. She's OK somewhere. She's using FB and maybe MM but we'd never know that because now we're just saying, oh that's her parents logging on and off. How do we know? Are they documenting the times an dates they're using her stuff?

Where as if they weren't doing that, simple account activity during recent days would indicate that she was OK or possibly OK.

Doesn't really matter. Source IP's (such as her parent's) can be easily filtered out.

Aaron Lewis Photography wrote:

No, it would indicate that **someone** is using her account. No more or less.

Basically all we "know" (and I use the term loosely) is that the young woman and possible one of her friends is MIA and that no AMBER Alert has been issued.

There might be several reasons for the lack of a broadcast alert. One is her age. The guidelines say 17 or under but states are free to set their own age criteria. Another is that LEO must try to confirms an abduction. Finally, LEO must show that the child is a risk of serious bodily injury or death.

My personal feeling (based on nothing at all) is that the young lady and her friend decided to take a hike and put a little (lot?) of planning into their adventure. Hopefully they will be found soon before they manage to get into any real trouble.
