I almost started a thread because I didn't see anything with "missing colorado models" in my search. I got an email from the Colorado Modeling Network talking about the 3 missing women, and offering safety tips for models. My neck hair stood on end when she mentions never go to a shoot alone, as I'm an anti-escort photographer. But aside from that comment, there was some good advice.
I've been promoting MM, getting lots of new models to sign up, and it's even on my business cards. I don't watch much news lately, but I guess it's time for two things: stay in the loop a little better, and take MM off my cards. I wondered why my "Yes" reply rate had plummeted lately. At one point, I had the young lady above on my Friend list. I hope she's OK. I work for a non-profit that helps homeless and runaway teens as just one of it's service areas.
"However, the disappearance of Kelsie Schelling differs from the other two in that the young woman doesn't use Model Mayhem. In fact, her only modeling profile is on the entertainment site Explore Talent. She also apparently never finished filling out her profile, as mentioned in the first mentioning of it here on Examiner. So it's unlikely that she ever really used the profile. Maybe she created it out of curiosity once out of wanting to experiment with modeling, but then never got around to finishing the profile. One thing is for certain, though, and that's that Kelsie Schelling didn't appear to have the "modeling" presence that Kara Nichols and Raven Cassidy Furlong have online.
Also, there are other details in the Kelsie Schelling case that differ from those of the other missing girls. A coworker and friend of the missing woman claims that she was pregnant at the time of her disappearance, and was having troubles with her boyfriend Donthe. More recent reports indicate that Donthe has been arrested on "identity theft" charges, but officials refuse to clarify on those charges. Whose identity is he accused of stealing, and what does he know about his girlfriend's disappearance?"
UPDATES ON RAVEN – Raven did call her father’s house earlier this evening, everyone was thrilled to know she is alive and called home, sadly though the call was pretty bleek based on her demeanor with her step-mother Lynn. The call was very short and Raven appeared scared, she said: She said "mom, I was told to call and let someone know I’m safe, I’m safe. I have to go... I have to go... this isn’t my phone. I have to give it back now. I have to go now” and then hung up.
Although Raven phoned home, the family and those of us at NWCAVE are not convinced she is okay. We are continuing our search efforts for Raven and hope you will continue helping us find her. We will have another update first thing in the morning, please continue posting the flyers and helping us from Raven.
The report of her phone call breaks my heart. It sounds like she is being held against her will and God only know what she is being made to do. My God I hope they find her.

OMG that give me chills.......
Is there a lot of this happening or just the 3 missing girls/women?

Can you point to the evidence that connects these 3 separate missing person cases, or that a single person is responsible for each of their disappearances?

Well yeah....
They're all on MM.
Hell they're even all in the USA
Also all in Colorado...
They all breath...
They all eat & drink...

not ncesessarily. could also be that she ran away from home (eithee because there is something going on at home, or maybe because she's running away from someting she witnessed or experienced that might be dangerous), but was informed that her family was worried sick about her and called them to make sure she's okay. We won't know until she is found (if she's out, calling people, I'm sure she'll be found soon!).
So, jumping to conclusions about modeling or MM seems a little bit of a stretch in that case. Clearly she is more likely to have gotten into trouble with her other endeavors.
The phone call is chilling. But I hope they can use the phone records to figure out where she is.

Well, they could very easily **if** they were doing anything about it. The police seem to be treating this as a runaway and probably have little interest in expending resources on it. The impression I get is that it is the family and some organization that is doing all of the leg work which in some respects puts them at a severe disadvantage as they don't have the same sort of resources as LE does. On the other hand, the power of the 'net is not to be underestimated.

There is no evidence. It is an assumption right now that they are hoping leads them to the answers. I don't buy it myself, but that's because one of the three women only had a half filled out portfolio on a site and no modelmayhem. It sounded like she wasn't a model yet... but who's to say she hadn't taken off for her first gig and disappeared. I believe that girls car was found abandoned in a Pueblo parking lot.

They are in fact, calling her a runaway. I guess because of her age and that she had taken a car when she left. The number she called from was a restricted number and they cannot trace it because it wasn't long enough of a call? That's what I get from it. Also it was finally on the news last night but only for a minuscule fraction of the hour.

I doubt it. If they are calling her a run-away then they will not expend any resources on her case (especially given her age). The call coming from a restricted number, or the length of the call, has no bearing on it at all. The TelCo can easily identify the number and show where it is "pinging" the towers. If the phone has active GPS they could probably also give her (by that I mean the location of the phone) exact location (within a few feet) at any given time.
It sounds like LE has probably opened a case and will wait for any information to come to them (if she gets picked up for something, etc) as opposed to actively looking for her.
Since this is basically a private "investigation" with limited resources, IMHO the best bet is to keep it in the foreground by flooding the net and hoping that someone who is aware of the issue spots her and gets in touch.
Good luck in finding your loved one. I hope that she is found safe and sound.
Here is a terrible thrash at ModelMayhem, if you guys care to read. Just wow.... How can they say there are not actually legit photographers and models on here? Sure there are a lot of GWC's too but you can tell by looking at their pictures. This whole situation of these missing models is quite unsettling.

it could be that moderators or police have been given permission to log on to her account to review messages. Seems logical
Praying for her... sadly photographers who refuse to let girls bring escorts increase the likelihood of these events. Always put your personal safety over a few photos...

btw, awesome. I might send her a message
The "little fact" of her majority-turning birthday occurring in the same month she "disappeared" was one of those "inconvenient" facts that those looking to use this case to gain traction for their agenda failed to mention.
There's still dangers of abduction and human trafficking in the U.S. but it's extremely rare and not as common as most people think. I used to do police work. The vast majority of people who go missing do so by choice. We're still relatively safe here for the most part.
