I am trying to find an old program that I used to use called "Photogenetics".
I am an artist, not a photographer, and I paint large landscape paintings in my studio from small paintings that I have painted outdoors and also from reference photos that I shoot at the same time.
Now, before my computer crashed last year and lost everything I had on it, I had downloaded (for free) the program "Photogenetics" and I used it all the time to tweak my outdoor shots. Since that time someone has installed a virus in every free "Photogenetics" download that is now available on the net, so downloading it now no longer an option.
So, would anyone out there have "Photogenetics' that they could make a CD of for me, or send me their CD if they no longer use it and I'll make copies.
Now, before all you pros out there start telling me I can do everything I would ever need to do with my photos with Photoshop or any other program, I just want to say that I do not have the time, or money, or desire to learn any new programs right now. "Photogenetics" was perfect for me in it's simplicity.
Can anybody help? I will check up on this forum from time to time in the next few days, or you can message me.
It looks like there was never a free version of the software, just a 30 day trial.
The company went out of business more than a decade ago, and their website is occupied by a squatter now.
I found a printer on amazon that supposedly comes with the software, but it is over $900.
I don't know what exactly you are doing, but try the free version of Photomatix and see if it can be coaxed into giving you what you want. If it can, then you can save the settings and use it.
If you have the time to wait and see if you can find an obsolete program that probably no one has... why not take your waiting time and try to learn using GIMP and it is a free program

Thank you for your response. I have the codes to unlock the 30 day trial. The codes still work, but the problem is ALL the downloadable versions have a virus. That is why I was asking if anyone had the CD version of it.
If no one has a CD, I' eventually have to try Photomtix or some other program, but Photogenetics was perfect for my needs.
Thanks again.

Thank you for your response, but it is not like I am waiting around doing nothing while I see if I can locate Photogenetics. I am very busy, but if no one has a CD of Photogenetics, I know I will have to learn some other program sooner or later. Just hoping I can get lucky.

A German computer magazine (www.chip.de/) still has it on their download site. Ver2.0 Seems "clean" on install. -- english/german language choice at install
