Waterworld gets bashed for the problems during production but it was actually not a bad movie. Any time you have Dennis Hopper as the bad guy is step in the right direction. Costner directed the last few weeks of production after the original director was fired. And Waterworld was not one of the biggest losers; it made $264 million.

Budget $176 million NA Box Office $88 million
Made the rest overseas
Before the overseas release I'm sure some execs were thinking "where did I leave the bullets for that gun?"
Although, I am told it is now a "cult classic" movie.
Honestly, I'd think Kyle Mclaughlin regrets that movie more...given that he was and is a working actor. Liz Berkley's chances were dubious before that film bombed.
Like...Kyle wouldn't do another season of "Twin Peaks" due to fear of typecasting.........but you though that movie was a good idea?

Speaking of Kevin Kostner in Robin Hooh...
Morgan Freeman in Robin Hooh. That movie has to make him cringe. I'm surprised they didn't try slipping in some robots from the future into the script.
Just agree to disagree on this one. Was it a great movie? Not even close, but it was certainly a watchable action movie that got buried by all the publicity of the budget overruns and still made more than a quarter of a billion dollars.

Nyuk!!!!!!
A note about Bob Hoskins. Don't remember where I saw it, but he's quite unabashed about Super Mario Brothers being the regrettable moment of his career.
Bob, Bob, Bob... we'll always have, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." And I mean that in a very good way.
