Two incidents that you couldn't do anything but display a gun to resolve it was either your fault or you should move.

How about the trespassers move?

Or you just ask them to leave.

Maybe you missed it, but in my case, the incidents were not exactly close to each other. The one in NYC was just after I left NY Film Works having dropped off a batch of KR64 for processing, the one in Nashville was as a result of stopping to help what seemed like a lady in distress.

Hard to say without details but the vast majority of people get by fine without having to show a gun ever.

Maybe they did ask.

You assume that. You don't actually know it.

Given the numbers of rapes and the the estimates on unreported rapes alone (add assaults, battery, etc.) - it may be just as likely that the vast majority of people don't get along just fine. After all, the USA has the highest percentage of its population incarcerated in the world.

*snort*

Your ''option'' of moving can only happen after the fact so that isn't really an option at the time, is it?  Besides, why should I move from my home because others choose to break the law by trespassing on my property?  Are you on the side of the criminals?  Seems that way.

Um, when outnumbered (by intruders at night) it is usually beneficial to have something that can level the playing field, so to speak.

And most of those who find it necessary to display a gun get along fine without having to fire a shot.  Those who didn't have a gun to display when they needed it... I don't know how they got along.

What I am saying is that you probably did not need to show your gun. On the side of criminals? please. More garbage by wannabee wild west cowboy gun owners.

My point is quite simple you probably didn't need to show your gun those two times but you enjoyed doing it or you live in a very dangerous area that you should try to move from.

Tee hee.

From LAPD manual :

"Unnecessarily or prematurely drawing or exhibiting a firearm limits an officer's alternatives in controlling a situation, creates unnecessary anxiety on the part of citizens, and may result in an unwarranted or accidental discharge of the firearm. An officer's decision to draw or exhibit a firearm should be based on the tactical situation and the officer's reasonable belief there is a substantial risk that the situation may escalate to the point where deadly force may be justified. "

You really need to stop making stupid assumptions.

You are really quoting the LAPD? LMAO

Very possibly the most dysfunctional law enforcement agency in the western world, and certainly the most dysfunctional in the United States.

ahh yes, the rule is bad because you think they are dysfunctional. makes perfect sense. I am pretty sure all my assumptions about you are accurate.

Every officer in the USA "exhibits a firearm" as a part of their regular uniform. The display of the firearm, along with the uniform is a deterrent against crime.
I guess that's a bad thing according to liberals.

It sure wouldn't be the first time someone here made assumptions about someone else here.

We already have laws against that.  Every gun owner needs to contemplate his rules of engagement.

You realize that every uniformed officer of the LAPD violates that rule every second they are in uniform?

No, obviously you don't.

You know what they say about assumptions? You're proving that to be true.
