Thank you for the comment Eliza C. I would of thought more people would post their flickr account here.. maybe most people don't use flickr or they dont want a slight bump in publicity?

I think the problem is with flickr is several fold
1. that it is general public and you get all sorts of strange people commenting and favouriting. That doesn't matter to me I don't mind if I get 38 favourites and 32 of them are pervs. They are generally quite nice even though often their own ports are a bit odd. I am interested in the 4 that may come to something re a photography job or publication or some other spin off. And that spin off can come because someone notes that there are a lot of hits so even the perverts count. In fact the place is overun with them so they account for most of the hits! Tag a picture fashion and you will get some hits tag it 6 inch heels and watch the count.
2. Many get dissillusioned because it isn't such a good feedback system if you aren't doing a high hit rate subject like something sexy or animal shots or sunrises or bands as a professional oriented site like this one. And neither do you get the instant 28 likes in a couple of hours like on facebook.
3. People steal the images and upload them in their own ports simply because they like them. Often this isn't credited so you have to eep telling them off all the time.
4. Flickr is a share site for many. Just post them up add them to groups just to get your name around. few of the groups are active. It is however quite cool when you come across one that is and isn't just a dump or fap group. The images are often just to share and sometimes photographers are not interested in that prefering to keep them under wraps.
5. Because it isn't a professional site one tends to be experimental and use it as an image hosting site for a variety of purposes. So mine for example is a mixture of all sorts of stuff not just my modelling. I use it as a hosting site for linking direct on other sites where I network - my profile page here; competitons here etc where I put my own photos in etc. I also just put snaps up. Also my travel and horse racing images. Sometimes people just put their own snaps up of their family holidays etc in addition to their more artistic/commerical/model/landscape work. So they may NOT particularly want people HERE knowing about it as they have a similar mixture. So it is a low profile thing sometimes.
6. It is a good networking site for work. I know photographers organise get togethers with other photographers, share technical info and ideas, to shoot models or locations etc via there. Again not everyone will want others knowing that kind of thing if trying to promote an existing lone wolf professional profile as they may here.
So I think those are some of the reasons for reluctance to join , keep it up or share here. It is neither MM or Facebook and many can't seem to get the best out of it.

True but it happens constantly on flickr because they are able to search images by tags. It isn't a problem for many because it can bring some work especially for models but for photographers who find it annoying when their work is copied Flickr can be a nightmare. While those trawling MM for images don't have a tag facility and those that do steal discreetly and post to special interest fetish websites etc...which again can bring work and niche fans. Flickr users can be a little more obvious about it and even stroppy when approached to take stolen images off their photostream and even add captions etc. I found myself alongside a load of Sardax images once with naff speech bubbles with femdom text added to my pics. Took me a week to get them removed. Then found the same person had posted them on a general porn site too.
I agree that there are plenty of creepy people who troll Flickr searching for nude tags but, there are also many talented photographers who offer reasonable feedback.
I've always liked flickr but agree its not the best place to showcase your photography especially if your income depends on it.
I enjoy flickr because well its fun, the comments are often rewarding, the groups have a good interest based community system, I like the stats to see what images are popular.
Here is my link to the model examples I've worked with.
mine's been a repository for everything since i started shooting. i go back and look at some of the older stuff and cringe at my lighting and processing, but leave it up as a reminder of some of the mistakes i've made so that i don't do it again.

I found flickr good at the start but now I just use it to show models the shoot, having them become friends. I'm getting close to making all images just for friends. And that is what I'm doing lately. I like flickr's display in the slideshow feature. I like reviewing images there.
I'm concerned about traffic. I hardly visit the place anymore but I'm getting a steady stream of traffic due to tags. I started declining groups but in a few weeks I should have mostly everything limited to friends.
I agree that some of the photography forums are really good.

I try not to dump everything on flickr, but i think that we can agree that flickr is the equivalent of facebook (social networking site) ,but in photos/videos and with better quality overall.

I use flickr quite a bit, I love being able to search via tag to see how different camera gear I like looks. I tend to post a lot of landscape, cityscape, and pictures of my test model(my cat) http://www.flickr.com/photos/seven10/
