The problem being when someone wants to - by force of law - make a legal definition of toasting, private tracks, or chessplaying that will now be taught to your children in school and affect your free speech rights if you disagree with any part of the new definitions.
Also, you will demonized and stigmatized unless you show your support and celebration of these alternative toasting, tracking, and chessplaying methods.

Your children will learn about it whether or not gay people get married. Minorities EXISTING does not infringe on your right to free speech. You are free to raise your children to be as bigoted and hateful as you want to.

let me guess. You sympathize with those who dislike that the definition of "human being" was changed to include women and blacks. Right?  I mean. Think of the children. Think of the free speech!

Go ahead, insult me. Demonize me.
Anything rather than address the issues I've raised.

Typical.

I've been brigged for less than what you've just written.

Not the issue I raised.

But again, you won't address the issue I've raised.

Oh wait, I already know.

Didn't say that they did.

Again, typical that you need to change what I said in order to even pretend to address me.

Being a citizen of the USA is neither being bigoted or hateful.

But then again, that's your entire argument because otherwise you don't have a single thing of substance to say.

Same old same old.

America 2013 - bigoted and hateful is ok as long as you're demonizing someone who doesn't celebrate your ideology.

Calling out your archaic and deplorable bigotry is quite substantial, actually. And like I said, your freedom of speech will remain in tact. I promise you that parents will still be able to raise hateful children regardless of whether or not gay people can get married. I promise.

So take some pleasure in that.

And you apparently will continue to indulge in unwarranted hatred and bigotry as usual.

Marriage predates the Abrahamic religions and frankly, I'm sorry we ever let you guys in on the deal. You act like you invented it.

I'm sorry, but wtf are you talking about?

I neither mentioned religion, nor Abrahamic religions.

So what are you talking about?

That is besides displaying your own hatred and bigotry against people of faith?

Here we have yet another contender in the "I've got nothing to address the actual issues you bring up so I'll attack religion".

Congrats.

I'm asking why you think you should be allowed to redefine marriage into some sort of religious ceremony?

I can't be the only person who read the article and noticed that one of the brides has brain cancer.

How sad it is that all we notice is that there are two brides, not one.

So... changing the legal definition of marriage from "one consenting adult man and one consenting adult woman" to "one consenting adult and another consenting adult" is a problem how? In what way does that impact you, at all?

While you're on the subject of redefining legal terms, was it a problem to redefine who can be a "voter", to include black people and women? How about the redefinition of who can be a "property owner"? I mean, those had HUGE impacts.

Since the gays are taking away your free speech at any moment, please explain (while you can) what it is that impacts your life, or the way the government works, about this redefiniton? The only change I see, is that all the rights of the old marriage "definition" will finally be available to ANY two loving adults, not just the ones who- in your opinion- are using the right holes for the right reasons.

Also, I love the "celebration" jab there at the end. No one is making you attend a Gay Pride parade, so quit the "oppressed majority who doesn't want to bow to the demands of the entitled minorities" crap.

One consenting adult to another consenting adult- that's what your children will learn in school. You people with the frantic "they'll be teaching gay stuff to my kids" chin-wagging always make it sound like health class will start including assfucking a leather-suited gimp.

The world does not revolve around you. Children- everyone's children- deserve an education that is free from as much bias as possible. If it's a religion thing, then quit hiding behind "legal definition" rhetoric. If it truly is the "legal definition" thing, then you have some growing to do. Women and black people can vote and own property- and one day, all consenting adults will be able to marry another consenting adult, regardless of what they do with their tongues.

The early 1900s gave us equality for race and gender. I hope the early 2000s bring us that much closer to total equality.

I guess I never spend too much time thinking about what other people do in their bedrooms. So here's a question for those who don't think that gays should marry, and I'm serious about the question because I can't quite understand your position. When you think about gay relationships, are you fantasizing about it or do you keep thinking about it and thinking it's bad? If you keep thinking it's bad, why do you keep thinking about it?

That you see this as an attack on you is typical of you.

That you don't see how I addressed (quite specifically) the issues you've raised is also typical of you.

I'm merely pointing out that, yet again, you are so spectacularly on the *wrong* side of history.  Merely pointing out that your absurd objections to children being forced to listen to these re-defined words are as stupid now as they would have been when the notions of "personhood" were redefined less not so long ago.

Your way of thinking is done.  Your children (or maybe your children's children if the former haven't learned how wrong you are) will live in a world that understands how ridiculous your objections are.  Just as sane people everywhere understand how ridiculous the thought of *not* re-defining "personhood" was.

That is all.

Go with your tail between your legs to the mods if you think what I say is briggable.

Polygamy was once the rule and they changed that definition. Not they will change it again to "two consenting adults"

You have an issue with kids learning that?

Also, Showing support and celebration will never be mandatory, avoiding expressing hatred, probably will. Do you have a problem keeping your opinion about two people of the same sex sharing their lives to yourself since it's a subject that does not concern you at all?
