Short and sweet -

ask and you shall receive -

I will say yes because, no because, or maybe if

You tell me if you want to:

trade (for portfolio development)

test (for editorial or commercial work)

or be paid (for whatever)

so I can make my decision....

If you do not tell me what I need to know I will skip you smile

NOTICE:

I am a nice guy at heart but I am going to take this thread seriously, not hypothetically -

I am very very rarely able to trade these days, and I test on a very limited and specific basis -

and all of my castings and needs are being filled through testing so compensation is pretty exclusive...

and I am currently booking April and May -

so take these factors into account when evaluating my answer smile

Hi Emily C -

I would definitely test / trade with you because:

I am building relationships with some designers who are looking for pull shots for their lingerie and swimsuit lines, which are designed in the UK and France and built in central Europe -

if you wanted to test for this I'd be happy to have you in my book to show these and other clients....    that would mean that if you were selected for a commercial print gig - by the client, and paying, of course:) -  I would need you to be willing to make the trip again....

I would be glad to give you a day in my schedule for the test, and we could shoot whatever you really wanted for your port as well....

Wishing you were nearer by actually smile

I'd trade assuming there's nothing editorial or commercially I'd qualify for.

Hi Kita St Cyr -

I like some of your styles and the upbeat pinup vibe of a lot of your work - very engaging personality...

at this time however you don't fit any of my testing for commercial print work, or for editorial projects.

I am unfortunately not able to offer very much trade for portfolio development at this time due to editorial and commercial demands on my schedule,  and you don't quite fit my castings for art book projects, so I would regretfully have to pass.

Hi Leone P

"maybe, if" for testing....

Because you are located so far away it is not actually practical for me to test with you -  testing is not "trading" but rather determining the suitability of a llama for specific future work...  and carries with it an implied acceptance of the opportunities one is testing for...

Hypothetically speaking, and *if you were more local* -

without your first three images I would pass....  but based on those three I would bring you in for a test for my ALT llama casting if you were very accommodating to my schedule...

That sounds very fair to me! I am slowly shoving myself on the radar of better photographers and so my portfolio is slowly getting better with time.

I know it isn't practical with the distance between us but it is still really nice to know you would test with me. smile

Thankyou for your honest opinion. xx

Hi Ashley Riot -

I would not be able to offer you paid work at this time because I am not needing ALT port development, and my needs for ALT models for possible editorial publication work are being met through testing...

I am offering testing for ALT models of size 0-6 (I can stretch to size 10 or so for the couture for this)  for Alt/fashion work for publication submission, but you have enough credits that this looks like it would not interest you....

Hi Maruschke -

I really do like your look -   but my port development needs are more than being met at this time, so a trade would not be practical....

With respect to testing, I would have to decline, because due to distance, testing is not practical (as testing involves an implied commitment to work with me on the project(s) you are testing for if you are selected either by me, or by a commercial client)...

*hypothetically* - if you were nearby   I do have a couple of different castings going I would be glad to bring you in to test for....  as long as you would be okay with some implied nude content....

I'd do a trade shoot if we lived in the same area, but I'm too far away.

Would you be willing to pay me a low rate if I came to D.C.?

I think you are very lovely and I like the work I see in your portfolio -

Unfortunately you don't really fit my current editorial project or commercial client needs at this time...

If you were living near my market area so that testing, which involves an implied commitment to work with me on the project(s) you are testing for, was practical, I would definitely keep you in mind for future possibilities....

I am not really trading much these days -  trade is about mutual portfolio development,  shooting something of mutual interest where there is creative synergy,  or "something for something" -

I have tons of quality images to rotate through my portfolio and various books  -  so even a straight up trade without additional financial costs is not an inducement....  I have many local models to shoot with as well,  if and when I want or need to do some concept development,  So the offer, while appreciated, is not practical for me.

If you found yourself already in my area and were interested in shooting for one of my art book projects that might be doable....

Based on our prior conversations, you are on my "notice" list should I need a semi-local plus size model to test for commercial print...

trading and testing are not synonyms -  trade involves getting together for one or a series of shoots for projects where both get desirable portfolio material - trade is a sort of hobby oriented concept

In the industry, testing involves involves an implied commitment to work with me (or whoever) on the project(s) you are testing for, and the purpose is to determine one's actual suitability...

Who can turn down home backed cookies ?  smile

But it would have to be testing, not trade -

as I wrote to Autumn Rose Brightly -

So if you were wiling to test for editorial fashion for publication submissions on spec,  or for lingerie and swimwear for commercial print,  I would be happy to have you in my book....

If you were at least semi-regularly available in my market I would test with you for commercial print work in fashion including swimwear and lingerie and I would be thrilled to have you in my book....

If you were just visiting I would be do a trade, if schedule was per-arranged (I am currently booking April and May, for example...)   which is a very limited with me these days -  I really like your look and your portfolio....

You are "close" but maybe not quite there for testing with me for editorial fashion - 5'8 will work in my market (which is secondary at best)  but size 0/2 is preferred....

however  if you were in my market I would take the plunge and see.....

you would have to be willing to work with a makeup artist (I noticed what you said about doing all of your own MUA and was not sure how you meant that)

and you would also have to be comfortable with lingerie and implied work as that is a part of both editorial fashion in the real world, and specific to my commercial print castings as well -

I very very rarely trade - if I invest the time in shooting with someone my motivation is to find models I can work with for editorial fashion or beauty or commercial print...  so it is rare that I do so with anyone who is not located in or near my market area or expressly willing to travel here if selected from a test....

The last time I ran one of these here it was a hypothetical - this one is real -

I do like your look, and *hypothetically* I would test with you -

but in reality I would need editorial agency standard models for my fashion and beauty work -

You might be a fit for my ALT casting or for my casting for commercial print in swimwear and lingerie -  but this is testing, not trade -   and comes with an implied commitment to be here for assignments if you are selected from testing -

I am also shooting a couple of fine art book projects but these concepts all require at least implied work....  see my castings if interested....

At this point, I have literally tens of thousands of images from creative projects that I have not even begun to rotate through my portfolios here or on facebook, and I have a large number of fashion and beauty stories in the queue for upcoming publication over the next six months or so .....

I am booked up into mid May as well, so I am not highly motivated to shoot creative work.....     you would have to really sell me on why I needed a particular idea or concept you might have in mind....   but I am always open to hearing from you smile

In my market (which is at best secondary)  I can stretch (downward lol) to 5'7 for models who have a great editorial look - and you do -  for fashion and beauty stories...

I would also have commercial print opportunities for you -

we would have to discuss particulars since you are currently under age
