I am an actress and I am looking for feedback on what my headshot says about me right off the bat. I would appreciate if you could take a look at this pic, and ONLY this pic, and provide an adjective (or list of adjectives) about what this headshot says about me.

It's great because I don't know any of you. You're not swayed by performances of mine that you've seen in the past or my real-life personality. So first impressions (not quality of the image/retouching) will be undeniably helpful as I determine how to market myself.

Considering so much of even getting the audition in the first place is based off of digital submissions, I'd like to know what my headshot says about me.

Serious responses only, please.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and leave feedback!

Much love,

Nicole

For a prime headshot, I would suggest getting something done in a studio where they have better control of the lighting.  With this shot, the lighting is a little too soft and the over-lit sunlight spot is distracting.  It's a nice combination of red and green.  I would have liked to have seen more detail in hair and dress, which means smaller aperture.  With a little more work and a little more expression, I could envision it conveying a romantic impression.

Guss, thank you for your input. However I wasn't exactly looking for feedback on the quality of the image. This is the headshot I'm currently using and am more looking for first impressions of the subject, me. Does this say: Slut, Girl Next Door, Snob, Wasp, Rocker Chick, for example.

I'm interested in a first impression of ME so that I can submit for more appropriately suited material.

I understand.  That's why I encouraged you to show professionalism with a professional shot.

You look like a timid girl from next-door

Image quality has as much to do with image content as how the image is perceived

It says "professional actress headshot". (Not trying to be funny. I've seen many of these, and this is a good one. It gives a feel that you can play many parts and "look" like anything the part calls for.)
Otherwise, Nice photo. End of story.
Now go break a leg.

You're right, but any fancier a photo would look like a model trying to do acting work.

Actors headshots aren't the same as model headshots or refined portraits. TOO beautiful a photo can harm the perception from a director's or a casting agent's view.

You almost made me spit up my coffee when I read your reply, since when does an actress not want a professional quality head shot?

Professional lighting
Good pose
Eyes in sharp focus
No distracting backgrounds
