I am an actress and I am looking for feedback on what my headshot says about me right off the bat. I would appreciate if you could take a look at this pic, and ONLY this pic, and provide an adjective (or list of adjectives) about what this headshot says about me.
It's great because I don't know any of you. You're not swayed by performances of mine that you've seen in the past or my real-life personality. So first impressions (not quality of the image/retouching) will be undeniably helpful as I determine how to market myself.
Considering so much of even getting the audition in the first place is based off of digital submissions, I'd like to know what my headshot says about me.
When I looked at your photo the first thing I saw was your eyes and the first word that came to mind was "intelligent."
Then my eyes moved down and noted your mouth slightly open and I thought, "maybe not so intelligent."
Those were my immediate reactions to what I saw. I can't give any reason why a slightly open mouth "subtracted" intelligence points for me. It just did.
Note I'm not saying you're not intelligent. You asked for our initial impression and that was mine. Also, I agree with a previous poster who said that you have a better head shot in your port.

Best of luck!

My first reaction was "bad headshot." I live in the land of headshots. The angle of your head in particular makes it a throwaway as far I'm concerned.

I don't think you give much personality in that photo. If anything I'd assume you're one of the 'sad friends'. The one who can be pretty fun to hang out with but also seems to put themselves down constantly or seek out the negatives in it all.
Well I think many casting directors will notice that its not such a high grade head shot photographer- given the green back ground, the under lit eyes, and possibly skin retouching near the mouth (?)
but beyond that, a pretty woman but in this case not terribly expressive
I think it would be better if cropped a lot more- to the middle of the forehead- loose some of the sides and the shoulder
hang in there its a long slog to get the right shot.

You're adorable, but your expression in that image seems bored and lifeless. I like the lighting, and the way it's composed better than some of the other portraits you have posted, but your expressions are better in the others. I would keep trying, because I think you can probably get something a lot better.
