A few years ago they were selling new for 360 at bh or beach camera.  Now the price has gone way up.  If I were to pick up another flash, I would consider the ones from yn.

Interesting. I have one 580 EX II.

I've been to three sites now and only one site still has them. It looks like the 600EX-RT has taken it's place.

You could always try the 430 EX II. I see them still advertised.

I've been leaning towards the 430, in absence of the 580 ex II, but I'm holding out for now in hopes of maybe finding a 580.. if I can

Some stores are out of new stock.

Not much sellers on the used market.

Canon has not officially stopped production of this model.

That means there's a shortage. Demand being greater than supply.

Must be a good product. ninja

While the 600EX seems like a great deal for someone starting out my investment in PW and 580/430 EX's has locked me in to the older generation. Guess lots of other photographers are in the same position, so they keep buying the 580/430.

I have 3 580 EX II's that I use with the PW's and I love them. No plans on me going with the 600EX anytime soon.
