This is more a business topic than fashion, but I am hoping to get some advice! I am thinking of promoting prom makeup packages, the only hair stylists I know are working out of their salon or have weddings on the prom days so it would just be makeup. Would girls be interested in having a makeup artist do their makeup at home? I am going to make postcards to hand around my neighborhood mailboxes as well as give to a client who is a cheerleading coach and selling prom tickets. For 50$ I will be offering airbrush, the cards will have my website: www.hanamohalo.com and # and style seat on it. Local salons charge 40 - 60 for makeup, and there is a merle norman offering free prom makeup but my area is very secluded, so there aren't a lot of options without a 40+ min. drive. Should I make a go of this? How should I advertise myself?

Absolutely ... you should advertise your services for prom ... I get alot of business around prom time !! Neighborhood flyers are good, but also check with dress stores that cater to prom.

Best wishes on your business

Might keep in mind that a prom princess is likely to be a bride in the not so distant future... for me this is a sterling opportunity to market bridal services...

Bridal comprises the lion's share of my revenue stream... I totally cherish doing bridal... Feel that it is an absolutely wonderful art-form to bring out the latent beauty of a woman on what is indeed likely the most important day of her life...

Consider all those enchanting young lady prom goers as future brides to be... smile

Great idea. You might want to also offer a perk (free false eyelashes or a lipgloss for touchups) to the prom girl who invites a couple of friends over who also book and do them as a group in one location. Best of luck!

That's an awesome idea.  You should totally do it and also post it on your facebook. Good luck smile
