Hi Fellow MUA's,
Is there a short video or course I could take to learn how make someone look "undead"? not exactly zombie, but I'm picturing ghostly pale skin photographed with a blue filter.

I'm assuming you lay on a light blue layer of makeup, let that dry and set. Then you layer a soft blueish white layer of makeup over this?

I watched SPFX mua's on a film once, draw veins with a blue pencil, and then layered the skin colored makeup over it.

Thoughts?

Thank you!! smile

There are many different approaches to take... depending on if you want "fresh zombie", "goth vampire", "ghostly shade", "Beetlejuice"

The look I THINK you are after...

I would contour pretty heavily to draw in the cheek hollows and eye sockets, using blue on the lips and near the eyes, add some blue/violet veins, and then do a light and pale foundation over the top leaving some of the color to show through. Don't forget some blues and violets put into the mix will give you more of a "cold and dead" feel... or a bit of green and purple will give you more of a "just about ripe" feel.

Good luck. Just so you know, I work primarily in airbrush, so many of my notions come from an airbrush artists perspective and not that of a trained traditional MUA who might approach things very differently.

Cool! I love airbrush. I do both. So will be fun to test both ways, and see which comes out the quickest, since I have 5 actresses to do. smile  Thank you!
