All plugins by Nik are being offered by Google for $149.  These are my favorite plugins and use frequently:

Sharpener
Silver eFex
Dfine

Really good deal considering this bundle would have cost $500 before.

FYI - I don't represent Nik or Google and am not making any commission promoting this.  Just figured I'd point it out.

Well shit.  Does anybody use any of the other stuff aside from Silver Efex?  Note: I'm using Lr and have been avoiding/putting-off Photoshop.

I too, got an email about this. I also thought it was spam. After researching this , they are stating that if you have purchased any of their plugins within the past 5 yrs you are qualified to get all six plugins free.

the web site has totally changed. are they just dumping this stuff? what does that mean for future development work on the products?

aside from silver efex, i use color efex some of the time and the hdr thing a bit as well (although it really doesn't do that much for a single image). i use alienskin more. and photoshop has a built-in b&w that is pretty good (likewise lightroom).

It will be interesting to see if Google is trying to simply get more customers or whether they just want to drive revenue and will stop spending money on development and support.

Google has done it before with other acquisitions.

seems like with acquisitions sometimes they just want the people, not the products.

If you use coupon code HOPPER or DZISER, you get another 15% off the sale price.

Yes, or the technology and they want to kill it or kill the product line and roll it into their own.

Basically, killing off the competition.

Now, if they could just buy Alienskin and discount those prices!!

Try the Sharpener and Dfine, if you haven't.

The sharpener is probably the best one on the market and worth the money by itself.

Dear Dave,

Thanks for being a long-time Nik customer. As a registered owner of one or more of our software products, we are pleased to announce that you are now eligible for a free copy of the new Nik Collection by Google, which includes all six of our award-winning plug-ins for Photoshop, Lightroom, or Aperture.

Has anyone downloaded and installed it yet?

Agreed.  However I never apply either globally.  Mask in selectively.

Yes. Don't know that I'll use any other than what I already had, Color & Silver Efex, though.

I haven't tried it yet (though I will), but I'm pretty partial to this one:

I've been using Photokit for quite a few years and really like their products.

Very tempting... I've been a fan of Silver Efex for a while, but didn't upgrade to the latest version yet.

Installed it, works awesome, I like it way better than 3.0 and getting dfine too was a nice touch.

It also left my 3.0 installed so both are working.

I don't use those plugins but have read somewhere you can get additional 15% discount using code DZISER. Hopefully it still works.

onOne Software has a similar suite, and it looks like they're responding to the NIK pricing with a special promotion of their own.
