As with good friends, you can never have too many lights.

If you can afford, buy more lights. If another item seems more crucial at any given time, buy that item and then get back to the collecting-lights routine!

Best wishes.

p.s.: Dont just collect more number of lights, collect more kinds too. More kinds as in various sizes, color temps, degrees of portability etc.

Make sense.
Have the 4 Einsteins and lots of mods.
Also 5 good speedlights.
Lots of extra money and this would not be an issue.

However since I brought up the question,
have decided I need a decent tablet, going Android.
And Cam Ranger is going to come out with an Android version of their remote control. And I want ($300), mostly for nature and animal photography.
So extra, really nice light has dropped in priority.
If I were actually making money in photography, it would already be a done deal.
Where are you going to get an AB1600 w bag, in mint condition for only $250. No tax, no exorbitant UPS shipping charges etc.

But still don't want to give it up.
Need to keep reminding myself, that a bargain is no bargain, if you do not need it, and may not use it.

1. A spare.

2. A second background light.

3. A second kicker (on the opposite side).

4. Use it with that 33.5-inch Mola Euro and just leave it set up on its own monster stand to save time.

5. A six-light setup that I learned from Gary Bernstein back in the 1980's. I would never use it with most models - but if a model has a slightly narrower face, it can be stunning.

Like.

-The more you have, the more it could be.

and then also...

-The more complicated you make things to be, the more chances for mistake.

...so, it's all up to you on how to apply it.

I used to have a lot of lights. It was an AB setup. Probably 5 or 6 of them. I paired them up with speedlights and I'd sometimes have 8 or 9 lights going. I got rid of all my AB stuff and upgraded. Now I just use two lights. It's a different challenge and a different look.... sometimes.

It's nice to have 2 on your backdrop, hair, 2 mains and a fill. I look at it this way. If you're going the route of lots of lights, the more the better. It seems like you already have some mods, so no reason not to expand your kit for a good price unless you plan on upgrading. If you plan to upgrade, the sooner you do, the better.
