I just called to get a quote from a company my wife and I bundle with to get coverage of shoots and my equipment. It was a bit of a sticker shock coming in as as much as both our cars. I felt bitten by a lizard.

Insurance is something I should have done from the beginning but now it is a flat out requirement by some of the commercial clients I have been getting called from lately so I can no longer futz around about it.

Does anybody here have any helpful advice in this regard?

Sheesh Nationwide was considerably higher and was doing a run around in lingo out the gate.

Here's a link: http://www.tcpinsurance.com/

They specialize in insurance for photographers. There's a lot of nuances to be properly protected in any specialized industry and these guys have it all covered.

I am with the Hartford.  It is quite reasonable ... about $500 a year.

Thanks, this has been a reality check as originally the 500 is what I was whining about. Now that I have been shopping around it doesn't seem so bad. I do like that link they have more coverage for the same money. I might go with that.

They quoted me Estimated Annual Premium: $722 for $20K in equipment and $3K in rentals. Went to $663 without the rentals.
