Go here:  http://www.modelmayhem.com/mystuff/manage_photos/
Find the image you want and click the "Set as avatar" button.

Welcome to MM.

Edit to add make sure you mark your images M as necessary first.  That should leave you with about one image that you can use as your avatar.  To see what requires the M, go to http://www.modelmayhem.com/help/rules/images

As Mentioned above, all shots in your portfolio, with visible nudity, must be marked "M" for Mature Content! Such photos are not allowed to be profile photos!
To include a self portrait, first upload it into your portfolio. If you want that to be your profile photo, (avatar) go into My Stuff, Manage photos, and click on Set as Avatar beside the one you want to use.
Note: Most photgraphers choose a photo that demonstrates their work, for an avatar, rather than a shot of themselves. What you look like is not that important to models. Your work is!

I think you need to purchase a premium/VIP account upgrade to add images to the bio.

You don't have any nipples showing on your Profile Page.  Do you mean that you want to organize your portfolio into albums?

There are several levels of privacy.
You can hide your whole profile:  my stuff > settings > profile privacy
You can hide your nipple photos:  my stuff > settings > Hide Your 18+ Photos
You can create an album:  My Stuff > Manage Photos > Organize Photos >
New Album | Set Album Picture

Thanks everybody. Now my question is - some people have added HTML snippets so that visitor counters or by-country ("flag") counters are visible. I know where to get the codes but when I insert them into a bio they don't show up or work. Any suggestions?

HTML is not allowed in BIO unless you upgrade your account to premium or VIP.

Upgrade here. smile

But welcome to MM (Model Mayhem)! I hope you enjoy your stay around here and be sure to post around here in the forums more often to get to know every one of us and to work with in the future.

For that you would need a VIP Membership. It allows you to add code to your page.

HTML is not used anywhere on Mayhem. Here we use BB Code only, and, as stated above, for profiles, that is only available to any paid level members. (not just VIP)
