That's an epic game 1. Amazing amount of close goals before a team could get their 4th.

Crap!

Raask gets burned on a double-deflection shot. Not the result I wanted but a helluva game.

Not helping that they're down 2 defenseman. One went out on a broken leg (managed to finish his shift though...go figure), Horton went out with some sort of upper body injury late in the 3rd period.

Not defense....I was talking about their inability to catch a wide open net, mucho times. They had a gift here tonight, and gave it back.

Oh well.....let's hope they grab game 2. smile

Another game, another overtime.
Boston got dominated everywhere but the scoreboard in period 1 and then win in OT.

Looks to be a really good series, shame this game and the next are on the pay NBC channel.

I just couldn't do that with my team in the semi or finals. Sick days or vacation days would have to be used. wink

Not sure who i want to win, don't exactly like either team all that much (especially boston, but that's more to do with my love of new york than hatred of new england)

Wouldn't mind seeing a 7 Game series!

Report you were kidnapped? Something.....anything. smile

Fortunately, I was able to get most games at work when I was still there. I woulda went nuts, otherwise.

Thankfully the electrical geniuses there, rigged up a dish of some sort on the roof, and in those days the local broadcast was always available at work too.

Seriously,it really sucks for all of hockey when a team such as the Bruins win by cluching and grabbing
There is no skill ore such playing basicly not to lose against teams with much better personal..

Sorry,I know its a Bruin friendly/anti Hawks thread here, but don't mistake me for someone who actually is rooting for one of these teams...I am a fan of good crisp exciting hockey..
When a double fight at the end of the game is the moxt exciting thing about a game because of one team basicly slowing ot down with tactics that should be penalized every time..

Meh...

This is why I prefer the international game hmm

Blackhawks win in OT. 3 out of 4 going to OT, wow.

When Detroit schooled Pitt a few years ago I was going bonkers because the refs let them slip into a little of that neutral zone trap, if the refs don't make the calls its still brutally effective.

The trap itself is not the issue, its the clutching and grabbing away from the puck handler that teams for years got away with that was.Without the clutching and grabbing away from the play it makes it a bit easier to bust the trap as the only way you get through it is to dump the puck in the zone and your oppoiste winger goes in and gets the puck,(this is where the clutching ande grabbing takes its toll as the opposite wingman was always held,ie,interfered with)

As long as the calls (or noncalls) are consistent throughout the game as they have been pretty much throughout the season, I'm fine because both sides have to deal with it.

Noncalls like that where its not interfering with the play at hand is quite common. The NBA has a lot of that to.
