I painted a card for my mom. I made sandwiches for our picnic in the park. I also spent my last few dollars on getting her a coca cola and a bag of cheez-its.

Outside of the card.

And those that are mothers can feel free to post what was done for them. smile

I called, texted, and posted on FB "happy mothers day mom. Love you!" wink We're on opposite sides of the country, so small favors at the moment.

I got my mom 12 cream colored roses, opened to full bloom and put in blue colored water (tied with owl print ribbon as the finishing touch), a "Happy Mother's Day" helium balloon, a mother's day cake, some nice perfume, a really, really gigantor card, a necklace with 5 circlet pendants on it (to signify her 5 kids), and a package of four rings.

Inside is a pictogram, consisting of a polaroid of an owl, the infinity symbol (drawn on the backside of Christmas wrapping paper), a heart (cut from the red of a Verizon Wireless bag!), and a photo of my mom and I when I was a child. Basically says owl + always + love + you. smile There's a more personal handwritten note on the opposite page, but I didn't photograph it.

big_smile Thanks! I was on a really tight budget ($15) but it worked out-- I had giftcards from two places that I was able to use to buy her actual presents, so all I had to spend in actual $$ was the flowers, balloon, and card (and Publix had BOGO cards & gift bags, which was perfect). I went to fiiiiiiiiiive places looking for non-wilted flowers, it was ridiculous neutral

Strangely, the flower power theme was a total accident though, I was only trying to coordinate the pink. And I still didn't realize until just now looking at that photo of everything, that it all has a flower on it!! Even the gift bag!

I celebrated with my mother a week early since she's on the next flight out-of-town to see my sister's brand new baby big_smile.

For my mother-in-law, the hubby and I purchased gift cards for one of the really nice spas in town. smile

I woke up early to make my mom blueberry pancakes. I also got her a card.

Then my sisters both came home for the day and we all went out to Applebee's for dinner.

Was a pretty chill day, all in all. smile

I called her and wished her a Happy Mother's Day. She doesn't want presents, and I didn't have time to get her one. I am making her one though, that she will get when I'm finished it smile

I talked to her on the phone for over an hour and never once mentioned that I stopped loving her years ago.
