This is my first post on this forum, please excuse me for my English it is not so good.
I'm a model. One of my friends is a photographer (really professional), he has a studio and a great make-up artist in his studio.
We all would like to get some freelance job. Saying, customer, impressed by our portfolio, hires us for a remote project. He describes by email or skype what he wants to see, we create great looks and photos in accordance with his requirements and send to him. And the customer pays us for that.
The question is: where can we find customers for such remote jobs? Are there any freelance sites, where our team could upload our portfolio and apply for remote photo-projects?
Or is it worth it trying to contact potential customers directly? (I actually have no clear idea, who are the potential customers - magazines? advertising companies? website owners? any other?)
Why I think this strategy is possible at all and can help us make some extra money and have fun at the same time - one of my classmates (she is a model and her husband is a photographer) makes money in this manner, and it seems they have a lot of customers, but she doesn't disclose where does she get customers.
I think this question may be interesting for many models and photographers, so please post here any ideas
