Seems like this would be an awesome place for a shoot, but it's too far in the future for me to commit.

I was considering attending this, However I am in a wheel chair and was told there is no elevator so I was curious if anyone has been to this venue and knows if there are any areas on the outside or main floor that could be considered semi accessible.

I am pretty familiar with the castle.  I would not consider it wheel chair accessible at all.  The only thing level with the parking lot is the parking lot itself.  The inside is actually kind of small and cramped as I remember.  The outside has steps on the various levels of the yard.

Here is one picture I found:

Here is the parking lot:

And of course the best picture (because it is mine) is taken from the road slightly below the parking lot:

Thanks,
I actually don't mind it being cramped inside or not level, or even a few steps around the yard and different terrains. I'm pretty adaptable, Mostly I'm wondering How wide the entrance is? As well as how many steps there are to get into the entrance. Basically I can handle up to 10 steps at a time if need be. 3-6 would be a whole lot easier. I don't need to go everywhere as long as i can get somewhere.

I haven't been inside in over ten years, but I seem to remember it being somewhat split level - meaning short flights of stairs, but the stairs might be steep.  I believe the place was hand-built by an eccentric as a private residence and I am sure he followed no building codes.  I also remember that the inside is small so I think people will be pretty lucky to get to shoot much inside anyway with the number of people expected to show up.  I am only 15 minutes away so I will try to get over there and get the tour sometime soon and report back. You might also think about bathroom access. Not sure how that is.

On the plus side, I looked into doing a shoot there and they wanted some crazy amount of money to take pictures inside, so for only $5, that alone is worth it.

Back in my early days, I did two photo shoots in the public areas outside of the castle.  I will try to get some pictures up from them

One last thing for the explorers - I have a book on "hikeable" waterfalls in Ohio and supposedly there is one right by the castle, but not sure how photogenic it is and I am sure it is buried in some thick trees.

[Edit] - I should add that when I say small, I mean like the inside of a normal house.  Not like Buckingham Palace.

I hope to go to this, but it's a little too early to be scheduling anyone, especially from facebook.

I would love to go to this! I have never done a shoot like this though, so I may be asking some questions between now and then.

Says around 150 people are going on Facebook...I would love to attend this, but is there an updated list of confirmed photographers anywhere? Before I definitively say yay or nay, I'd like to see what my options are and I've found facebook pages for these things to be rather unreliable.
