They are the same pony characters of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

See?
They're humans for this movie. Well, part of it.

Was not sure if serious.  Urban dictionary explained "bronies," though.  Now I'm not sure how to react.  I choose to believe I'm missing a punchline somewhere.

If you watch it (the series), you'll like it.
Begin with the first episode.

Bronies and Pegasisters are everywhere.

I think it's messed up. Ponies should stay ponies.
I've only seen the trailer for the film but it didn't impress me. There are so many other shows who deal with tweens and school drama. sad

If you're not sure how to react, Urban Dictionary didn't explain it well enough. Try Encyclopedia Dramatica.

That's true, but the second trailer convinced me to go see it because I thought it was a one-time thing.
A news article reported that the Equestria Girls movie (ponies as humans) will become an actual series... Which is sad, but I'll have more dolls to collect.

I'm slightly terrified by the existence and popularity of such things...

Aren't Bronies guys who forgot to grow up? Hey, grow up. It's a series for little girls, not adult males.

If I were the theater, I wouldn't let in unaccompanied guys because it might make the girls feel uncomfortable.

I saw an episode... Or a partial episode... Of the 80s one.
It was far too simple and baby-ish.
sad

It's a little creepier than that, for both genders.

the aliens that dropped us off need to come back and just nuke the whole place. humans are a sick, twisted lot.

Some bronies happen to be very nice and not creepy.
^^;
Some innocently enjoy the show and message of friendship.
In fact, I think most do not find ponies attractive in /that/ sort of way at all.

I'm thinking that's probably because it was a show for small children.

Maybe so, but this is a TV program aimed at young children of the female gender. Not grown adult men. I just think it's a little bit wrong.
