Anyone knows if average advert is a legit ?
I received a request from average advert by a freelance ... they want to use one of my pictures for an international ad ... They want to pay a high amount for the picture and the person stated in the email that I need to have a license to sign a contract? She is initially asking some personal info but I am very skeptical about been a scam?? Here follow the last email Hello, I am pleased to inform you that one of your picture was chosen by my client. We need to obtain a contract which you and my client will sign before your picture can be used. Most importantly, we need to obtain a license for you that will enable you sign a contract with my client.. You cannot sign a contract for a poster advertisment if you do not have a license. The advert council need to be paid before they can issue you a license. My Financier will send you the money so you can directly send the money to the advert council office that will issue the license to you. My Financier cannot deposit the money directly to the advert council office because the advert council office always requires the owner of the photo to deposit the the money for the license directly so they can prove that the owner of the picture is the one receiving the license and that the pictures were not stolen from the internet without the owners consent. Your photo cannot be used until you have signed a contract with my client. Hello, I am pleased to inform you that one of your picture was chosen by my client. You will deposit the check, forward on the money, the check will bounce and your money is gone. Jul 02 13 11:42 pm Link unfortunately a form of the Nigerian Scam, they send you a game cheque, you pay someone they tell you to with your money, 1 month later your bank comes back to you telling you it was fake and they take the money back off you. Why would an agency contact the model to use a photo? they would go to a photographer for the photo. Jul 03 13 01:18 am Link Hey! Send me $100,000 and I will make sure you earn $1,000,000 in less than 30 days! Really, are you asking if this ad is real? If you have to ask then it isn't! All of you others out there that are now going to say that you've seen ads like what the OP has posted and they are real, REALLY!!!??? Jul 03 13 01:23 am Link Thanks everyone it is fishy... and yep it looks like a scam in my opinion, better safe than sorry. They have nothing from me .... not even my personal email.... it is just good to show samples on how people are scamming out there so everyone could be aware. Jul 03 13 05:53 pm Link "My Financier will send you the money so you can directly send the money to the advert council office that will issue the license to you." Jul 03 13 05:59 pm Link Fishy. Fishy. Fishy. While it is possible to be approached for the use of an image commercially, it would not be in this way. Remember it is the photographer who holds the copyright in most cases and it is principally the copyright holder who they would be looking for. Also - there would have to be something unique and difficult (read expensive) to reproduce about the image, or they would just re-shoot it as a known entity with all the contract t's crossed and i's dotted.. Jul 05 13 06:59 am Link SCAM! 1. They are asking you to receive a (fake) check then send money somewhere. 2. If they were going to use an image of you they would need the photographer's approval. The Photographer owns the rights to the image, you are not the owner. Jul 05 13 07:06 am Link Moderator Note!

We are looking for pictures of Novis and amateurs on the internet that we can not afford to pay top professional models My client is looking for an image that will be on its "International Calling Card Phone" billboard / poster to display in Western Europe. Your image is what we want and that's the main reason why I contacted you. Your face will only appear on the display panel. The total remuneration for employment is EUR10,000:00 or its equivalent in your currency and will be paid for a period of 4 to 6 months Photos of the poster will be sent to you before it will be launched in March. Every advert that was ever made is a miniature scam in that it wants to bypass any objections you may have (in fact bypass the thinking process altogether) and have you pay money for something on impulse.
