I want to be firm on what i will and wont do but i dont want it to sound rude. Also the way my profile looks, any ideas on things i could change. I want to be noticed and i want photographer to want me. I am not talking about my photos i am talking about my profile the first thing they see, what do you think? Also my website, feel free to check that out and critique me on that to Jul 09 13 11:46 pm Link Linsey_Marie wrote: A few points. Jul 10 13 12:29 am Link Put a few donts on your profile, but not too many. Right now what you have drives people away. You can discuss other things later. The "I dont expand to..." seems sort of irrelevant a.k.a. only a few people are going to ask you to go further on that path for a span of your whole modeling career (at least I think.). Put what you ARE looking for on your profile. 1. it will seem less negative and 2. there is less to say. Let me know if this helped . If not, I'll try my best to expand. -Allison Jul 10 13 12:38 am Link I have looked through your website and it is pretty much your profile bio word for word - complete with the spelling errors. I recommend removing all exclamation marks. Your rates are high. $200. an hour for nudes is double what many very experienced art models charge. This doesn't mean that you do not have the right to ask for that amount, just know that you are pricing yourself out of the market. Jul 10 13 12:50 am Link After reading only a portion of your profile, I'd move on to find another model. You gotta sound like you have some idea of what you are doing. Sorry, but you don't. For instance: You write: "I do not book more than a week in advanced..." I book MONTHS in advance, rarely less than a couple of weeks. Your grammar and spelling are atrocious. Get some help if you don't know how to use Spelling Check. I don't mean to sound harsh, but as I said, I never even got past the first few paragraphs. So no matter how attractive and conscientious you are... it didn't matter. I was moving on. Just my opinion. Jul 10 13 12:51 am Link THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE, IT DEFIANTLY HELPED people are wrong about me and im giving the wrong impression ill work on it :] Jul 10 13 12:59 am Link Linsey_Marie wrote: You took our advice very well . E.g., defiantly where she means definitely. But spellcheck should catch "suddle" and offer up "subtle." Jul 10 13 01:07 am Link Use spell check as suggested. " The only nude i do is suddle and natural" Did you mean subtle? There are more though. Use negatives sparingly. Do you really have to say you won't do X-rated images more then once. I'd scrap your written profile. That and your reply to a member here suggests you are somewhat unfriendly. Get a friend to help you with your profile. You want to come across as upbeat and positive. Avoid things that are confusing like, ' I avoid things like film or erotic pictures.' Do you mean explicit? Later you say, you're doing this for great pictures but still later you expect to be paid. 'I model how I want'. Really? Even when you're being paid? I'm not talking X-rated images either. Try this: Hi, my name is Lindsey. I'm new here and I love modeling. While I pose nude I don't do explicit nudes or adult work. Feel free to contact me for clothed TFP work but I may ask for compensation for nude work. My rates are negotiable and vary depending on the project, time involved and use. Traveling outside of my area will require payment. If you schedule a shoot and cancel within 48 to 72 hours I will require a deposit to reschedule. Book me and you'll get a fun, cool model ready to help you produce wonderful work. That was off the top of my head and I'm certain others could do much better. Jul 10 13 01:10 am Link I do not book more than a week in advanced, you may let me know u want to shoot ahead of time but i do not plan more than a week ahead. That's likely going to lose you a lot of photographers. Jul 10 13 01:12 am Link From your website's bio page: "Hey, im linsey I have been modeling for about a year now but ever since i started ive been working hard. I am confident and comfortable with my body, i am into all types of modeling except x rated film or erotic pictures. The only nude i do is suddle and natural. I know that modeling is what i want to do, and hopefully make a career one day. I am not part of a agency but would like to be one day although i do not do runway I love the camera and modeling is in my blood, im just in it for taking great photos, trying new things and becomming the best model i can be." There's a lot of fluff in there along with the misspellings and bad grammar and punctuation, but at the very least it should be: Hey, I'm Linsey. That last sentence (I'm just in it for taking great photos...) rings a bit hollow when you talk about rates. Jul 10 13 01:25 am Link The Effective Image wrote: Have to agree on this. I would work with you based on your pf, but your profile shouts 'potential troublemaker' right into my ears. Jul 10 13 01:44 am Link Camabs wrote: I didn't check out every image, but it appears that the OP has credited only one photographer. And, yes, the model's name plastered on most of the images is pretty annoying. Jul 10 13 01:51 am Link Most everybody is right on, Especially Tony Lawrence above about the writing part. Take his suggestion and rewrite your profile. The mistake that many young models make is trying make it sound like they are tough and scare away the creepers. Well, the fact is creepers don't read and don't care what you write, think, and blow. The only people you are scaring (turning) away are good photographers. I will crop this picture https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32945326 (18+) to your face, down to below the collar bones and use it as an avatar. And then write something base on what people feel when they see that face. Jul 10 13 02:17 am Link Linsey_Marie wrote: You're not gonna do what photographers want, yet you come asking for a critique? Jul 10 13 12:06 pm Link $200 per hour nude with no erotic? I'm paying 1/10 that. Best of luck. Jul 10 13 12:17 pm Link Break up the paragraph. Spell check again. Jul 10 13 12:24 pm Link I know I'll echo some of what other photographers have said. I'm not sure if I'd approach you for a shoot or not. Your bio does read a bit like a newbie (and I'm not sure if I can put my finger on it though), so I may be inclined to overlook some things, but I'd probably approach you as a newbie rather than an experienced model. First of all, really do go over your spelling and grammar - including simple things like using "I" instead of "i." Your "don'ts" don't really bother me too much since they aren't all that unreasonable. I may suggest however, listing what you are comfortable with instead: e.g. "I'm comfortable with artistic and glamour nudes." Also, models who trade for clothed shoots but charge (especially at your rates) for nudes are a big turn off. Jul 10 13 12:44 pm Link I try to post in threads under the pretense that "if I have nothing nice or constructive to say, don't say it." That being said, quit reading now if you don't want harsh criticsm. Let's just say this; you're young, and have a very newbie mentality on the modeling world. Your look is one demensional. Your poses are generic. You refuse to have good spelling and grammar on your website which is an absolute lack of professionalism. Your body is thin, but not toned or fit, and your poses do not accentuate your feminity very well. Lastly, and you've heard this enough, but your rates are that of an international cover model on many published magazines. Your portfolio reflects that of a beginner model. I suggest swallowing your pride and try shooting more TF and low rate nudes. I'm shooting a nude shoot for a new model at $30 an hour this weekend, and retouching and giving all the shots. You may enjoy it a lot more as well. If the photographer is amazing, ask for TF. Anything that HE/SHE want to shoot. You get great experience and imagery. Jul 10 13 01:01 pm Link Hello, I am Linsey and I love to model. I do artistic nude. The only thing I won't do in modeling is porn or film. I am happy to do non-nude TF to expand my portfolio. My rates for nude or implied are on my website. Let's go shoot and have some fun. //// mo Jul 10 13 01:02 pm Link First and foremost, check your spelling and grammar. There are a lot of mistakes, and that can be extremely off-putting to people. Proper spelling and grammar is more professional. Secondly, people like bullets. They make things easy to read. Next, here's the formula that I think would be good to use to revamp your profile: A brief introduction- tell people who you are and where you are. About you: -Your appearance- any tattoos, piercings, body hair, etc. -What kind of transportation you use to get to shoots. -Any skill sets you may have that would be handy for modeling. -What genres you want to shoot. Your work habits: -Your TF policy. -Info on your limits (aka, things you won't shoot). -Any other kind of modeling you do (runway, video, or posing for artists). Finally, make note of the best way to get in touch with you. Edit: Just looked through your portfolio, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop editing photographer's work and putting your own watermark on it! Edit 2: Your rates are ridiculous. I live in NYC, where everything costs more, and I charge a fraction of what you're asking for nudes. Jul 10 13 01:10 pm Link It's a pass for me. The bio reads that you are difficult and pushes the reader to a web site that isn't really necessary for booking. I just need a few good shots and a desire to gain direction from you. The spelling is bad. The rates are a good laugh. You need to stop editing photographers photos. No one will put up with that crap and take you seriously. Jul 10 13 01:11 pm Link I honestly didn't go through your entire profile/port, but just from first glance to sum it up I would honestly say it seems wordy to me. In listing an introduction, you generally want it to be short and sweet. Maybe say something like "Hi, my name is Linsey, I am open to many different styles of modeling. Please contact me if you are interested in working together." The reason I say this is that most photographers or whomever will not read your bio anyways, and this will come off much more polished vs blah blah blah blah if you get what I am saying. Secondly, I might suggest to take your port down to your very strongest images. Less is more in that respect as well. We are all only as good as our weakest images. The watermarks are very distracting as someone else mentioned as well. Either tone them down, or take them out. hope this helps. good luck Jul 10 13 01:29 pm Link THANKS FOR THE HELP, I HAVE A GOOD IDEA OF WHAT PEOPLE THINK NOW. IN THE END I WILL DO WHAT I WANT FOR INSTANCE IM NOT GONNA DO PORN WELL THAT REALLY NEVER GONNA HAPPEN, ITS NOT MY THING AND THERES PLEANTY OF MODELS THAT DONT DO THAT SO IF YOU THINK IN ORDER TO BE A MODEL NO LIMITS YOUR RETARDED :] BUT I WILL MAYBE PROJECT IT BETTER. IM CLOSING THIS CONVERSATION DONE REPLYING Jul 10 13 05:19 pm Link I suggest looking at the profile of some well established model you admire. Don't copy their format or wording exactly, but use it for inspiration. Jul 10 13 07:02 pm Link Jul 10 13 07:15 pm Link While I'm aware that she no longer wishes for any replies, I'm going to say my two cents anyways. Your images are heavily edited and unflattering. If you brushed up on your grammar, punctuation and professionalism (re: 'your retarded') you might have a better chance at getting work. Part of the business is being able to handle criticism with any praise you may receive. Jul 10 13 07:22 pm Link Linsey_Marie wrote: Bad attitude. Jul 11 13 02:00 am Link Your bio is poorly and rather densely written. You're a pretty girl with a nice figure but you badly need to work with better photographers. The high key photo you are using as your avatar, along with the other one from that set, are by far the WORST photos in your portfolio! They don't do you any favours, don't even really look like you and should be deleted immediately! Next your profile is no good. As a fine art photographer I would never pay a model with so little experience. And $200 per hour? Washington has some amazing fine art photographers, WORK WITH THEM FOR FREE UNTIL YOU HAVE A DECENT PORTFOLIO AND YOU HAVE ESTABLISHED YOURSELF. After that you may be able to charge the hobbiests and GWCs around 75 to 100 an hour. Back to your profile, tell us a little more about your goals and what inspires you. If your doing art photography as a model who are the photographers you admire. Make me find a reason to work with you or else you will be destined to be on this site for 3 months and give up like so many 10s of Thousands before you. Something tells me you are modeling on a whim and that you are getting naked with the sole purpose to make money. It's rather transparent and and not something an artist wants to deal with.
