Model Release & Address Field
So im looking at a few model release templates online and noticed the one I ended up liking includes a spot for the models address. Is this something that is a standard practice? Or will I get a strange look? This is the form for any curious folks http://www.mcpactions.com/blog/2012/08/ … ease-form/ Jul 12 13 08:31 am Link Geek Photography wrote: Its a standard part of my contracts/release. Jul 12 13 08:43 am Link Pretty normal. If you ever decide to sell to micro-stock and use your own release, they will require it. Many publishers will as well. I have no issue obtaining this information from models. This is also useful when I mail out photos, CDs or any other material pertaining to our shoot. Also perception and and how you conduct yourself as a business won't get you that "stare" when asking to fill out the release form. They in turn have my full contact information and give it out freely as a business. Like the saying goes "perception is reality to most" and besides most models are familiar with the release so they will fill it out with no questions, I also provide them with a copy of the release for their record. Jul 12 13 09:27 am Link I currently use Easy Release on my tablet, and yes they all have the llama's contact information, real name, address, phone and email, plus a photo of their ID card. I have never had a llama find that strange, although I have never worked with brand newbies. Sometimes they don't want family or work-colleagues to see them naked on the internet... Jul 12 13 10:46 am Link The release should have the model's legal information: real name, address, birthdate and so on. It's fine to write in stage name, MM# and anything else that you'll want for reference. The stock agencies I work with require a copy of the release, but do not under any circumstance release the information to anyone. I know of one microstock agency that will provide a copy of the release to a customer, but only after all the model's information has been removed. In other words, they will make available the terms of the release, but nothing about the model. I've had a few models question the need to provide the information, but they do fill it out once I explain the necessity. Only one fought with me about it; she too gave in, although I wonder if what she wrote was accurate. She claimed not to have her ID with her, so I never could verify the details. (I wouldn't anyhow.) Jul 12 13 11:12 am Link Hank Shiffman wrote: If it's a nude shoot, no ID, no pay. Jul 12 13 11:13 am Link I use EASY RELEASE its a APP for the Iphone. You actually can take a pic of the models drivers license or ID as well as get the address. Its normal practice and most models think the App is cool and don't mind. Put it on the BACK of the page. Jul 12 13 03:34 pm Link Thanks for the info everyone, I think I will add email and phone number to the template. One more question, do I need to get the models birth date if I am not shooting any nudity? Jul 12 13 10:08 pm Link Geek Photography wrote: You should get the birthdate regardless, should anything come up as to whether or not she was legally old enough to enter into the contract.
