It's been... A while. A few months.

If you could please critique my latest photo, that would be wonderful.

There's far to much of the environment & far to little of you.

I go to Gainesville a few times a year. So I feel for you because I know other than trees there isn't much to shoot around unless you are shooting in campus. I do agree with the poster prior. There just isn't a proper point of interest in that photo.

I guess the image isn't zoomed in enough to show it, but I have zombie makeup on. The point of the shoot was to look like a zombie emerging from the woods.

I have yet to meet a zombie with proper posture(;

Thank you for your critique(:

You should always be show cased and not have to compete with the surroundings. If it was cropped like your avatar that would help it.

Can't really make out the zombie makeup so that left me wondering. With lack of definition, it looks like it could be crash survivor or a woman that escaped a serial killer. Also, zombie's don't have proper posture, but they also don't pose holding on to branches either, and I think the pose and the concept don't quite match up.

I do like the concept (being a fan of horror films) and think it could be executed really well. I just don't think this shot conveys the concept feel that you were after.

That's just my opinion though.

Cheers,
Don

When going for thematic shoots like that, it's very appreciated when models do some homework (10-15 minutes will do).

Google some zombie relates pics or videos, and practice in front of your mirror what you believe works best.

As an example: http://www.amctv.com/the-walking-dead/v … lking-dead

Of course, doesn't mean the photographer should let the model do all the homework for him though wink

AGREED - COMPETING WITH MOTHER NATURE IS FUTILE.

This just doesn't work, the crop is wrong and the lighting is too bright/harsh to give a zombie feel to it.  I am all for negative space and the rule of thirds but this misses both those...

Nothing you could have done about that
