having a panic attack lol

http://memedepot.com/uploads/1000/1148_1253230725640.jpg

I'm freaking out, this airfare shiz is going to drive me to crazytown, population 1.

If you saw the older thread, I've been watching for the best fare for about two weeks now, give or take, for Oct 12&15th (Non-negotiable dates and semi-rigid times), for ATL > ROC and vise versa. Prices started out two weeks ago at roughly $615 for 2 RT tickets, then last Tuesday night it dropped down to $485, but my mother (who is tagging along) didn't know if she could get her time off approved yet, so we waited. The next day it immediately jumped back to $615, and everyone told me to wait and that it would go back down today XD. BUT THEN on Thursday it jumped up to $705. And now it's Tuesday and it's not. fucking. budging. I mean it is, but by, like, a dollar an hour-- I'll be lucky to see it drop down to $615 again at this point sad

*freaks out*

I've heard that Tuesdays are the best days to find bargain air fares, followed by Wednesdays. I don't know how that works when Monday is a holiday, but you might wait until next week to see if they go down again.

Check Southwest....If I understand your post correctly, I just plugged in Oct 12 - 15 and got as low as $362 round trip, and bags are free.

That's per person, no? Yeah, that's even worse lol I'm not travelling alone, the prices I list in the OP are for two smile Southwest is one of the most expensive, lol. We aren't checking bags, so bag fees aren't a factor for this particular trip.

Oops...sorry! Read that too fast.... around 300 per person round trip anywhere is about as cheap as it gets these days... from what I have seen anyway.

Lol, last Tuesday this exact fare was $242.50 per person RT. I think I'll wait, haha. I'm certainly not going to drop $705 on economy airfare when last week I would've paid $485 for the same thing. Bing has an airfare predictor that correctly predicted last week's price drop, so the fact that it's telling me to wait now, and not buy, tells me that the price should be dropping to at least a little below 300 per person again. smile

Try flying into Buffalo and getting a car. Flights are usually a lot cheaper, and its only about an hour and a half drive. Good luck!!!

But then you have to pay for an hour & a half worth of gas, lol. tongue I've looked into it and it's *maybe* $50 cheaper, and since a full tank of gas is at least $30, it's not really worth navigating 90+ minutes of unfamiliar interstate. It is the "emergency backup" plan if prices get worse, though!

edit:
Just double checked and it's worse than I thought, lol-- there's only a $34 difference between a RT to ROC and a RT to BUF right now. Granted, that is non-stop (because there is no way in hell we would take a 6 hour flight-- thanks to layovers-- and then drive another 1 1/2 in the car, lol) pricing.
