The perception of perfect is always changing. Skin changes. As a pre-teen I would read The Milady Standard Cosmetology book. I know the importance of eating right and going to sleep early ( getting enough rest) I don't know if it's important for a model to have perfect skin.

I think it's important for models to at least have good skin- I see so many girls and guys who are not even doing the basics for their skin. They come on set with skin that has not been properly exfoliated, hydrated or even protected from the sun. As a model, it's your job to take care of your appearance by getting regular facials, staying out of the sun, getting enough sleep and eating the right foods.
A model who really embodies that for me is Karolina Kurkova- She eats very healthy and you can tell. Plus, she is 30 and she is still up there throwing shade to all the 20 year old models.

Good skin unconsciously makes us think of a healthy person.
Good skin also means less photoshop, less makeup, less expense for the client.

*Perfect* skin is harder to find, but I think it's a huge asset for those models who are lucky to have it. I see this also with actresses- It's a huge boost.

Even as a makeup artist, I think it's important for *me* to have good skin. I used to have bad skin and I eliminated sugar, extensively researched skincare and skin products and just made sure I took care of my skin the best possible way.

Take care of your body- there is a lot of beauty and grace in that gesture.
