Hi all,

I've been posing for a number of years now, and mostly pretty tame images. I got a chance to work with one or two photographers who had some latex and other alt props around and really enjoyed the darker outcome.

When I started to look into getting my own supplies, I was shocked at the cost of latex and other items.

Is there a secret website/store alt/fetish models shop at to get a good deal ? How did you begin as a fetish model?

All responses are appreciated!

Fetish modeling includes a huge range or things, and is where I made the majority of income from 2009-2011. I did a significant amount of niche video content for private collectors, and wardrobe was largely irrelevant. Most fetish work includes subject matter like spanking, bondage scenes, ballgags, hair washing, showering, inflating balloons and pool toys, foot worship, full suspension, stomping "cities"/giantess, damsel in distress, staged abductions, etc. I have done a variety of more bizarre stuff, like wearing "mom jeans" with no shirt on, while restraining another female model, and chewing on little dolls that looked like people, while the camera focused only on my mouth. I also did pretty well with a variety of fetish where women with muscular legs choke male submissives with their calves, as well as picking up larger male models off the ground, and wrestling them into restraint.

Latex is only a tiny fragment of what's out there, and is often regarded as just another form of fashion, not particularly "real fetish" work. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but almost no one can pay their bills just by dressing up in shiny, cool outfits and posing with whips. You have to actually know how to use the props, be willing to use them, and at least entertain the notion of doing video content.

If fetish-fashion is what you're interested in, no, it won't be cheap. Your best bet is to keep an eye out on etsy and in them market forum for sales/models selling their old pieces they've shot to death and can't use anymore. You'll still be paying upwards of 100 bucks per piece, but it's a few hundred less than buying new

Building a quality versatile wardrobe is something that takes investment.

I should have been a bit more specific, but like I said, I'm quite new to the genre. I've really only dabbled.

I'm really inspired by MOSH (219654), and Lauren WK (360189). I'm not sure what their genre is considered, but I love their use of latex, nipple clamps here and there, corsets, rope work. Maybe this is all seen as soft fetish...

Or maybe someone can help me define this tongue

Do you have experience with buying these pieces? Do you usually buy from etsy yourself?

It's fetish. It's just going to be expensive and time consuming to build that wardrobe.

I've bought mostly from other models in the mm market, but I've also purchased off etsy, eBay, etc. I prefer etsy to eBay because people tend to be a little more honest about what they're selling as fas as quality, true to sizes, brands, and all that go. If you try buying latex on eBay it might not even be real latex, it's coming from china, you have no idea who's selling it and what it really looks like because they're using some other manufacturers pictures, etc. If you buy off etsy chances are you're buying straight from a designer, or from someone who actually wore the piece and can tell you all about it.

Maybe I can help? If you posted a casting or availability notice and used this wording (above), I'd know exactly what you meant as would most muas, photographers, models and stylists I reckon. If I responded to your post (or Profile) you could use that opportunity to flesh out your thoughts and limits, if you'll excuse the pun.

BTW, don't you love this 18+ photo of Lauren WK?!
Exceedingly well done

Keep an eye on the MM Marketplace. You can find good deals on used pieces there. That's where I've gotten some of my latex.

Westward Bound has an eBay store where you can often find good bargains, be careful with sizing, a UK 8 is a US  6.

Many Latex designers have Facebook pages, and often sell samples there at good prices.

The MM marketplace often has some good deals too.

Thanks for the useful advice! I'm finding lots on MM and a few wholesale sites (with good reviews, of course) smile

great advice ladies as this is something I have been interested in doing, but there doesn't seem to be many women of color used in that genre. I also love Mosh's work and very proud of her. She' come a long way.

+1

Plus, for a lot of girls who do the whole fetish thing, its a bit of a lifestyle. It takes investment. I have years and years of stocking/girdle/vintage fetish wear that I have spent tons of time and money sourcing. But its something I am interested in and like to do.. so I pay the money and take the time to do it.

And on the latex front, that is gonna be expensive no matter what, new used ect.     but it sure is fun!
