Most posing tech (tech is only ever a guideline. All rules can be broken) is the same for all model types; learn the light, keep your hands graceful, relax your face etc etc, but generally it is important not to make your body into a block - keep distance between your arms and waist, don't lock your elbows and knees, drop your shoulders to lengthen your neck, tilt and angle your body in different directions to create a flow of movement between curves - though again, that is true for models of all body types a lot of the time.

The best thing to do if you are not confident in your body is to;
1. Study. Find plus size models (and other models - they don't have to have a similar body type to teach you something) and break down their images. What makes them work? Why is that post so captivating? What has the hair stylist/MUA/stylist/designer done to finish the 'look' to a professional level?

2. Practice. Get in front of the camera as often as you can, but also take some time just looking in a mirror, practicing facial expressions and poses that suit you.

I would also advise finding a top grade pro in your area (preferably who knows how to shoot plus models, and someone who shoots non model clients too, so they are used to instructing poses) and paying them for a session. They will teach you more and boost your portfolio more in one session than months of practicing with amateurs.

Hope that helps smile
