I am going to start learning to airbrush and body paint. Been doing research and I'm definitely going to go with the Iwata airbrush and compressor.

So far the Iwata Eclipse looks like the best airbrush for beginners. Wondering if anyone has any better ideas?

I want to be able to do fine details but also cover large areas of skin easily.

Also what is the best paint to use and if so are there any paint kits that come with a variety of colors you would suggest?

Any information helps thank you so much!

The Eclipse is my primary brush and one I recommend. It is not as good for really low pressure applications (delicate eyelid effects) and is not ideal for whole body coverage (which would be better with an air gun)... but it is great for over all use.

With practice you can get pencil thin lines and be able to get even coverage on a torso in 10 minutes or so.

For paint kits, it depends entirely on what you wish to paint... how long you need it to last... what sort of colors you are looking for... and etc.

The place I know with the greatest variety of products to browse is sillyfarm.com

My local West Coast Supplier is The Painted Navel.

Thank you for the tips! Yeah I think I'm gonna go with the Eclipse to start out with and I can always expand and get a different one for more delicate areas and the whole body.

So far sillyfarm.com has helped me out the most, just wish they offered deals if you buy a whole bunch of colors! Or at least a kit with 24 colors or so. For starters I would mainly be doing face, shoulders, neck and arm area. And I want the paint to last. Looking for all colors and also metallic colors as well.

Do you have a favorite brand of paint you use?

I change brands often, depending on what I am trying to accomplish and where I can get a good deal.

F.A.B. is great for price...though the colors can be a bit more flat than some of the premium brands.

European Body Art (EBA) has great color and smells nice, but is a bit pricy if you are on a budget

Those are the two I have been using most recently.

Ok thank you so much! Yeah EBA was the one that I was reading a lot of good stuff about. And budget isn't a problem for me with the paint.

Thanks again for all the tips!
