I'm bored, so I'm offering some obsessive compulsive criticism for anyone crazy enough to actually value that kind of thing.

well that would be interesting to me -   sometimes i'm all about details in my work - often I am more about mood -   interested to hear your perspective

Your concepts overall are great, I like the abundance of color, the props, the accessories, and the simple but effective framing.

Onto the details: First, I think you should change your sharpening and skin smoothing techniques.

This photo is a good example: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/35927331

It seems like you applied a light blur or used a third-party application to try evening out the tones and clean up imperfections, but in the process you erased the fine texture of the skin. The result is a tell-tale "gumminess", which is only enhanced when you sharpen the image afterward.

Also, with regard to sharpening, I'd suggest using layer masks to selectively sharpen sections of the image with varying radius and amount so that you have more control over the depth and shape of your picture. In the shot I mentioned, her skin seems less in focus than her hair (which is oversharpened) and her eye and neck pieces, which becomes confusing to the eye once you notice it.

Other than that, I think it would help to tighten up your control over the tonal range of the image, both in post and in camera. A lot of your shots have both blown highlights and crushed blacks, detail in the hair especially is lost in rough patches.

My advice would be to retool your retouching workflow from top to bottom so that you can exercise more fine-tuned control over the processing, since it looks like you're used to making big changes that affect the entire image. If you rein it all in, you'll have some extremely striking photos.

Anyway, that's my 2¢. Hope it was somewhat helpful.

Dude, are you serious... ಠ_ಠ

You know damn well your portfolio is nearly impeccable. My only criticism is your avatar, which is easily the weakest image overall and stands out like a sore thumb against an otherwise diverse and high-quality selection.

Oh, and this one: https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/35515511. Which has some weird purple color banding that looks like it might have been the result of a bad color profile conversion or something. I'd ask the photographer to check his copy.

But your modeling itself is top notch. Great look, body awareness, a very clear sense of muscular control in that your expressions aren't forced, your poses aren't angular or awkward; it's clear you make fluid transitions instead of abrupt, patchy adjustments.

Keep up the great work. big_smile
