But remember, it's only a few days (which seem endless, I know. I had deviated septum fixed -that was some serious shit, cause morons nearly killed me with wrong atibiotics..  year after rhinoplasty which was not bad at all, but omfg that fucking chin implant hurt like a mofo!!! and i had to give myself an enema from the vicodin. Never. Again.  Now where's the ummm water pipe.. )

After the first few terrible endless days you'll never have to deal with that shit again!

Also Nurse Jackie/ United States of Tara/Dr. House et al take on completely different nuances when on a prescription cloud.

Just catch up with all your shows, phone people you've put off phoning forever, get a cat, (that's always helpful I find), make up some shit in the fora, dream up your dream wedding, figure out where you're going on vacaycay next, just find your happy place and remember, It's only a few days out of your entire whole life.

More hugs.

And a foot rub. big_smile

I had to google Norco. I was given a prescription for 50 Percocets for 2 root canals. I took about 22 of them & decided it didn't hurt that bad so why take them. My last surgery I was given Percocets & Morphine a couple of times for the worst pain.

I have had 2 lap surgeries. Gallbladder removed at 26 and then an exploratory lap in my 30's. The gas part sucks. Honestly though those surgeries have not been the worst I have had. I've had 7 more and will probably need another this month. I injured my ankle in May and now my MRI results are bad enough I have to see a specialist. The pain I might endure to fix it scares the Hell out of me. I can't take Norco or the other 199 drugs in that classification. BTW, eat some food with all pain medicine, it really helps. Make sure you watch that you don't get a post-op infection. I had one 2 years and it got so bad I couldn't even bend over to put on my shoes.

Sorry to hear of your discomfort but believe me, if the appendix had not been so bad, the laparoscopic surgery would have been much better. Its less painful and the recovery is much faster than regular surgery.

Basically, you were unlucky enough to have an appendix that was near bursting before surgery, so any disturbance of it made it "blow up." Once that happens, the docs don't have any choice - they have to "go in."

I had 2 laps.  Awful feeling the gas in your tummy!  The pain may not just be from your monthly.  It may still be from the gas in your tummy.  Take it easy and feel better.  It will take a good week to 10 days to feel better.  I think it was 2 weeks before I felt better after my gallbladder lap.  Although, I had a major allergic reaction so my abdomen was covered in blisters and a rash.  Allergic to the scrub they used (not betadine but an alcohol based scrub) and adhesives which caused the blisters where the steri strips were.  It was awful!!
