I finally got around to setting up a separate portfolio website for my retouch work. Let me know what you think about the layout, text, pages, and especially the Before & After page. I'd really like thoughts on this page per the header, gallery and text.

Here's the link: http://retouch.jenniferhaggerty.com/

Thank you!

Make the before&afters bigger, or clickable to a bigger size. Also, the images that ARE bigger on that page (the ones that scroll) look like they were resized from too small and lost some quality.

On a positive note, the arm hair one is super impressive.

Will re-size ALL the things. Thank you for your feedback!

Edit: Edited the viewing gallery. Will re-size the header images over the week.

Perfect. I know you're good, so people need to really be able to see that.

Would you recommend including more samples? No before and after, just finished images? I am also not 100% on that banner, do you think it should stay?

Yes. Make a separate page for "gallery" and just show finished images. Pick out no more than 10 of your best. I don't think the banner is really necessary as it's just showing the same images.

Also, don't just go on what I'm saying, haha. Get more opinions.

Your opinions are much appreciated and I will consider them with a larger pool of feedback. Thank you for taking the time to review the site and offer your criticism!

Hmm looks like Wordpress which isnt a bad thing, however make sure if its is wordpress or joomla that you always update your software to ensure it doesnt get hacke3d.
A gallery option would be nice, also if it is Wordpress look for the page builder plugin which comes in handy.

Been doing Joomla, Wordpress and designing for 15 years, so not bad at all smile

Good suggestions here, but overall, great job so far -- shows off your skills and taste very nicely.

It's looking good Jen. Need more photos in the gallery, it's too short.

Since you're my pal, if you need more images let me know. big_smile

Your website does not work in Safari version 5.1.7 on a PC running Windows 8.1.  The Navigation does not appear.

Wordpress, ftw! They sure do love their updates and I keep up on it constantly on the 4 websites I have.

I've updated it with additional pages for specific galleries and have a sliding gallery feature.

Thank you for your input and advice!

You're a doll smile
I'm good on the sample front. There is quite a bit more work but for client requested discretion I won't be posting it in the galleries, hence the favorite MM Retouch Forum samples - that place is amazing and the contributors are wonderful people.

Hrm, I'll see what I can do about that. Thanks for notifying me!

I tried three times to view your site & each attempt resulted in an HTTP 500 error (server problem).

That happened to me as well. I had just installed a plugin that put the server down for a minute while setting up. Try it again, it should be fully functional now.

Edit: I edited my main site, www.jenniferhaggerty.com, and it's perfect. Won't be stealing the template from my retouch portfolio.

Thanks everyone!
